Odd Yattarou Figure

Interesting Yattarou figure appeared on Yahoo Japan auctions today.


Going by the auction text, it's made of a rubbery plastic like the mini figures are, although it's significantly larger and made of several parts. It's molded only in red and white (I wonder if painting these would work or not, considering their made of a different type of plastic). Looks like the additional armor parts and bird are removable. Does anyone know anything more about this figure? Were other characters made for this line?

Appears to be one of the decorated display stands for the mini figures, still boxed. I'd like to see more photos of these someday, they seem interesting.

you can paint anything if you prime it right.

if the surface won't accept acrylic paint, you can always paint a thin coat of primer like a clear gesso over it, and then knock yourself out.

if you dont paint that model... *shudder* well, it's just creepy.

I have this figure.  I'll write a little about him in the next newsletter.
For now, here's a comparison to the "action figure" and "small figure".  I call this type the "medium figure".

Reviving this topic, because two auctions showed up recently that revealed something interesting about this figure: there are apparently two color variations.
