Remember back then when there was nearly BILLIONS of cartoons? Where are they now? No where sadly Cry. There are a few cartoons now, but there pretty annoying (especially the ones from cartoon network excluding the animes) and companys such as Disney don't really make cartoons, and I thought that was impossible.

your telling me...Dexter's Lab..Courage the dog, Cow & Chicken & all them where brilliant, but now its getting boring, like Camp Lazlo, My gym partner etc etc...i even have to say that Jetix (FoxKids UK) show some horrible cartoons, Captain Flammingo, unlike the greats of Jackie Chan adventure, Shin Chan, Digimon, Eek the cat etc etc

Jetix UK, no doubt. I looked at the range of shows it had before the early 2000's and every one of them are decent. I think it's how Fox handles the distributions of those shows and I recall Digimon came on at one time in March this year. Saturday mornings at Channel 4 used to be a godsend but I'm not quite sure what happened there.

Amazingly we can turn to YouTube to watch those classics. God Bless them, my Sons.

I see three reasons for it:
1) No-talent hack writers. Pretty much speaks for itself.

2) A push to make every children's show educational or make some point. Don't kids get enough of that sort of stuff at school or from their parents?

3) Polictical correctness (the point I hate most Angry Polly by Felineki). Nearly everything you can say, write, show, etc. will offend someone today. People will also run through stuff with a fine-toothed comb to make sure there aren't any hidden meanings or political points being made. It pretty much eliminates any entertaining plot you could write, and prevents the classics from being re-aired on public TV.
How many people here watched 'Rescue Rangers' in the late 80s/early 90s? You remember the Siamese Twins? Well they got placed at number two on a list of Disney's most offensive characters. And why? Because of using an oriental animal to represent Chinese characters. To me, that's as stupid as Australians complaining because a kangaroo was used to represent an Aussie character. There's so many examples out there for PC'ness. Another is the animated Noddy shows being banned because Noddy and Big Ears slept in the same bed in one episode. "Oh noes! They must be gay - ban it now!". Bloody hell, some people are so ridiculous.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The majority of cartoons today are crap. If I ever have kids they're gonna be watching the classics I grew up with.

They need to make a channel where it only shows cartoons from the late 80's to mid/late 90's. I would pay for that.

On the subject of TV Channels showing old cartoons, they seem to be getting better at that. I mean, Medabots is back on over here, for Pete's sake!

Though I wholeheartedly agree with the 'new cartoons = XP' thing. I could rant for England on that, but that's for another post...

Lucky! I want to see Medabots again.  Embarrassed

I liked that series so much, I used to sing my own parody of a Lennon/McCartney song. Try to guess which one.

I can't remember most of the lyrics I made up.  Guido Confused

It's so sad how cartoon network's  cartoons are just annoying, especially with characters like fred fred burger (which makes emperor fred look like he has 54654654647474IQ), chowder(always says for example "this this this..." or "thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..." over and over again), and i can predict that flap jack cartoon is going to be sucky Angry Polly by Felineki. make real cartoons next time cartoon network

Thank god for Complete DVD sets.

My parents actually send me The Super Mario Bros Super Show and Super Mario 3 (The show). It's been ages since I last saw those.

Radical.  Smiley

Raise your hand if you ever tried to "Do the Mario" when the credits came on. *raises his hand*

Pretty simple moves to follow, but I couldn't get the teleportation to work.
