Did disney's contract on SPC/KNT ever renew?
I'm not sure, but I'm kind of nervous if the contract did, who knows what Disney might censor.

I disagree, the japanese animation started to degenerate a couple of years ago... And it didn't degenerate alone, it also degenerated the american series, the DevianArt galleries and a lot more... The most recent Saint Seiya OVAs are crap if you compare them with the 80's series, 85% of animax shows are unoriginal, stereotypical and filled with cliches... The over use of unnecesary "Hentai" content, gore ands typical emo students just kill my desire of watch any japanese series...

I disagree, the japanese animation started to degenerate a couple of years ago... I think you say it because Naruto or One Piece have become very commercial... But there are animes that will be good (for example Muhyo to Rōjī no Mahōritsu Sōdan Jimusho)

Um... No it doesn't. I've given up on anime for a while now. Not entirely. I still think it can come back. Truth be told I don't care whether it comes from Japan or not. Seriously, we live in a global world now (sound kinda stupid to say "global world". Like "person human"). Get some international teams together and make something awesome. Enough of the androgynous demon hunters with big swords. Give it a rest and give me something REAL.

Want a great new anime? Soul Eater rocks pretty hard. Gurren Lagann still has teeth, and if you like the 80s style more, nothing beats the original Macross/Robotech deal. I just realized how different the animation quality is between Witchblade and the first season of Pokemon.... wow. I still like it though...

I think the new fma is still good enough to watch, and of course there are still naruto and bleach which are also still going on. besides those there are ea few others I watch but most are just too short, not more then 30 episodes and that's the onliest thing thats so negative about most animes.

^This.
And anime hasn't been immune to the animation slump.

I see three reasons for it: 1) No-talent hack writers. Pretty much speaks for itself. 2) A push to make every children's show educational or make some point. Don't kids get enough of that sort of stuff at school or from their parents? 3) Polictical correctness (the point I hate most ). Nearly everything you can say, write, show, etc. will offend someone today. People will also run through stuff with a fine-toothed comb to make sure there aren't any hidden meanings or political points being made. It pretty much eliminates any entertaining plot you could write, and prevents the classics from being re-aired on public TV. How many people here watched 'Rescue Rangers' in the late 80s/early 90s? You remember the Siamese Twins? Well they got placed at number two on a list of Disney's most offensive characters. And why? Because of using an oriental animal to represent Chinese characters. To me, that's as stupid as Australians complaining because a kangaroo was used to represent an Aussie character. There's so many examples out there for PC'ness. Another is the animated Noddy shows being banned because Noddy and Big Ears slept in the same bed in one episode. "Oh noes! They must be gay - ban it now!". Bloody hell, some people are so ridiculous. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The majority of cartoons today are crap. If I ever have kids they're gonna be watching the classics I grew up with. Yhea birng on good ol' cartoons . also i think shows should be left un-edited. Bring on the vilent cartoons

also i think shows should be left un-edited Gotta agree with that, though I did liked the TMNT 2003 version more than the original.

Classic Evangelion, or the new reboot? Anywhere, I thought BECK was pretty cool... And Soul Eater.

It was a good concept before every damn series started to use the same kind iof story...
Well; japanese animation always has been about copying a succesful series changing some minor details...
