I love the way that they mock the cheesy aspect of the classic series... The banana and pizza monsters are just great...
Anyway I hope that the classic turtles also have a lot of action here
I wonder how will appear the comic turtles, we can see them in the background in the opposite side of Classic Shredder and Krang and... Classic April is piloting the helicopter where Casey is... What would the other April think about that??
Wait... You're April?? What's with the yellow jumpsuit? Do you work at a car wash in this dimension??

Yeah, but none of the ten rangers was like an almost clone of any of the others, plus its not like they havent had specials with ten rangers before...
But this time we are going to have 3 of every turtle!

No big deal, I think the comic TMNT just will appear as a short cameo since the original turtles are too much violent/dark/gory/aggressive for be in a cartoon that is mainly aimed to children...
3 Leonardos are too much badassery for a movie...

Yeah, I know... Raph is the bad guy of the group but his rebel attitude has caused too many problems... He always returns to Splinter crying about the mess that his bad temper just caused...
Have you seen Leo fighting!!?? The guy is GOD!!! Raph is stronger but Leo is more skilled... Donny is the weakest since he is kinda pacifist but without his brain the gang would be doomed...
And Mike, Mike is Mike and that's enough for love him..

I just watched it and was great although the 87's turtles were high, they were just stupid and I didn't like that... Is like the new turtles are cool and strong and the old turtles were just a bunch of morons... (I know that the new series is a lot better than the classic show but this movie went too far)... Anyway, the moment when the group meets the original turtles was just epic, my heart was pounding hard in that time and they looked really creepy...
I loved this movie although the characters from the 87's series deserved more respect... 4/5 stars!!

I happen to enjoy the classic dudes. That's just me though.
It's not just you, Kyo; I like the classic boys best too. I'm toying with the idea of getting the Xbox 360 game. Should I? Anyone played it?

Way late on this one, but I'm a big fan of the TMNT.
I was into them when I was a kid in the 90's, and I remember having some of the toys, watching the first movie (my favorite of the three), and playing the TMNT games on the Super Nintendo. I remember watching the cartoon when I was younger, but I don't really remember much of it.
When the TMNT came back in 2003, I was excited. I actually really liked the new series--the animation, the fight scenes, etc.
I watched this movie last year and I really liked it. But looking back, I don't think they should have made the 80's turtles look so...stupid.
The addition of the comic turtles was awesome, though.

No replies in this thread for a while, but I thought I'd bring it back since there's ANOTHER new TMNT out.
It's on Nickelodeon and I actually enjoy it quite a bit.
TMNT 2012 is not as much of a throwback to the original animation as the previous movie was, and there's a lot of "modern updates" like 3D animation and a revised theme song, but the changes are actually very well done and the show is still entertaining. They kept up with the original storyline and the characters are still true to themselves. The animation isn't cheesy (like some poorly rendered 3d animation can be) and the theme is toe-tappingly catchy.
The thing I like best about the new show is how through the episode, it can go from very goofy (imitating anime humor) to very dramatic in a comic book type of way. The transitions between the other styles are really smooth and well done, and sort of makes you feel like you're reading a comic book with live action in between. It's got a lot of "feel good" moments in regards to characters and straight awesomeness.
Here's an example:
http://youtu.be/8B8dUtG_h4c
Notable things about TMNT 2012: April is still a "reporter" but instead of tv celebrity, she's high school age. Also, Michaelangelo is Beast Boy.
Has anybody else seen this show yet? Curious to know what you guys think.
