HA HA, rice on dowels

I've never understood chopsticks. I used to always want to try using these things every chance I had thinking it was an exotic way to eat food, but after using them so many times with little to no success I've decided they're just not worth it for me.
First of all, I can barely even use them. Even with practice, I just can't get them to work properly without straining my hands. Any more practice and I'll end up with premature osteo-arthritis. Second, even if I did know how to use them, I can barely pick up food with them even with "practice" chopsticks. Makes me wonder how people can eat
rice
with these things.
Some Asians say that using chopsticks is "a martial art that lets you use the energy of the food itself to project it into your mouth"... Erm, yeah, whatever. Until there comes a day when people learn how to telekinetically channel food into their mouths, I'll use a good ol' spoon or fork to feed myself.
Speaking of sticks, I also can't get the hang of driving on manual, but that's another story for another day.

Take some home with you and practice. I have my own
hashi
(with bunnies on them) and I often eat at home with them. I have another set in my purse I use at work sometimes.

I've usually use
đũa
, the Vietnamese kind. I find them easier to work with.
might be because I learnt how to use them first, but I have an easier time eating for example rice with them as opposed to
hashi
.

I've also theorized that the hand-eye coordination involved sharpens brains and is responsible for Asians tending to be better at just about...everything.
I hope by generalizing "Asians" and "Everything" you mean the Japanese. Because living in a few of the Asian countries has tought me about their politics, collaboration, planning and openness. They dont really work as they should a lot of the time.

Asians train their students to answer tests, europeans teach their students why they answer as they do and in the USA I have no idea what goes on.

I remember well enough that they do/did this in the U.S. too... I hated those "Why" questions...

I use chopsticks like a five-year-old, and I'm content with that. So I can't use 'em for rice, so what? I just eat sushi anyway, and look, there's rice stuck to it! Hooray!
Hashi are cool, though.
Um, what else? ... yeah, school is lame.
