Hey guys, this is just a short topic but,
my dad and my mom recently got a laptop that me and my brother can use too,
but the issue is that Windows 7 keeps crashing, so what i'm wondering is,
Should i use wubi to install Ubuntu Linux?
Like i said, this is a short topic,
so if three of you guys\girls say yes, then i will use wubi,
cause that laptop is really make'in me mad.

no
If 7 is crashing it is either not updated, or you are doing something wrong.
if you recently got it its more probably the latter.

It gets its updates.
We bought it form Best Buy and the Geek Squad preloaded it,
it's also had blue screens form day 1, no programs installed.
It's made by HP.
All i was doing when the first blue screen happend was browsing ebay,
and it went blue screen.

A computer doesn't blue-screen for no reason.
Either something was installed wrong, you've installed something bad, a program is doing something wrong, or you're doing something wrong.

Also to be honest, unless you or someone in you family is a computer whiz, Linux shouldn't even be an option.

I haven't even installed anything on the laptop, the only thing installed was the software for the netgear modem,
my dad installed that, the only thing i do on it is look at ebay and go onto nick.com via internet explorer.

let me just ask, are your parents laying the responsibility of diagnosing a new computer on their 10 year old son?

No. That's a very bad idea, all i do on it is look at stuff on ebay and play on nick.com
I am going to ask my dad tomarrow if he wants to reinstall win7, my dad
has done that before and it fixes most of the issues form what i can tell.

I heard ubuntu was more stable than windows, so i thought it might be a good idea for ubuntu.

If the Windows reinstallation doesn't work, either get a very tech-savvy member of the family to look at it or take it to a professional. Don't try to fix it yourself if you don't know what you're doing.

It's not a good idea to change the operating system of your machine as soon as you find any trouble. The cause may be other than the O.S. itself, for example, a defective hardware could crash entirely the machine. Moreover, some buggy software or hardware driver other than O.S. may be responsible for the failure.

If you wanted a stable, reliable and less resource consuming O.S., Linux is the recommended option. Linux used to be less friendly to the average user, but this is no longer true. Canonical is making a great effort to make Ubuntu really user friendly, thus anyone could use this O.S. without difficult nowadays. In my opinion Linux is better for basic user (who uses the computer mainly for text typing and web browsing) because it's less prone to crash, to be messed up by inexperienced user and to be attacked by malwares

The problem of Linux is its smaller number of users, incompatibilities in some hardware and softwares that don't run outside Windows. If gaming was your main intended use, Windows can't be avoided.
