Ah yes. Gimp. If I coulda got that to work, I wouldn't be making this topic. I can't get it to install properly. Every time I started it up it froze when around the time where it loads the fonts. Same thing with an older version also. I have no clue how to fix it.

As for photoshop, it costs a bit doesn't it?

Not if you download it off any P2P program. Wink

Ever since people started downloading off each other, I didn't think people still actually bought software anymore.

Since I installed Linux on my computer, I bought software anymore (he, he, he, just kidding, I didn't buy software for Win either  Smiley ). This is the free software lifestyle.
Anyway, Guido64380 (has this number any meaning?), do you consider to use Linux? I use Gimp on it and never saw any problem. You don't need a big HD partition to make a dual boot system, and you can find formatting free HD repartitioning program, where data loss is less probable.
I'm not forcing you to use Linux, but since for me its has been very suitable and trouble free, perhaps it'd be worth to try.

If I knew how to make my computer run linux, I would. I've also been banned from using P2Ps on this computer (not mine). And Isn't photoshop huge, like 900Mb or am I thinking about something else?

Burke said he used paint to make his avatar, and now I'm starting to wonder how.

And no, the number 64380 has no real meaning. I just use it on sites where just plain Guido is taken (or here, where Guido is a from the TV show this site revolves around)

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 to do all my editing and OpenCanvas(which I actually paid for Wink ) to make/color stuff. I really should get photoshop sometime soon.

You can run Linux without touching your HD, using bootable CD or DVD. One of this kind of distro is Knoppix (http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html). This distro contains Gimp 2.0. If you wish to try it, download its image and burn a CD.

Yes, knoppix is the way to go for previewing Linux. I used it to get my very first taste. I only wish I were able to use Linux more often. I'll have to get back to it sometime.
