heya guys, if any of you are old enough to remember the Acorn Archimedes series of computers in the early 90's, i'm currently writing an RPG, which when completed will run on all emulators capable of Snes/Megadrive emulation. i may make a win32 (windows XP) version so you can just double-click the game and it'll run, but that's for later time.

so far i have the basic story, design, levels, pickups, etc etc done, but in about 6 months i'll be needing a few testers i can trust (as in not to splash it all over the net) to beta test the game. This game is for my final year project in 3 years time, but i thought i'd involve some of the community.

Let me know ideas, things you would like to see, etc. in this thread. you never know it may be implemented!

I remember of an Acorn Archimedes in the lab where I was working in my Ph.D. thesis. It was responsible for controling and data acquisition from stopped-flow kinetics photometer (er... perhaps only chemists'd understand this  Yikes! ). I remember few things about its OS, such the existence of a graphical user interface, and a nice game called Virus (made by David Braben, who programed classical games like Elite and Frontier).
I did't understand what you said, is it possible to run Archimedes programs in Snes/Megadrive emulators?

nope it's not possible to run them in megadrive/snes emulators

but writing the code for the snes/megadrive is alot easier on a riscos pc, due to the code being almost the same when it comes to compiling. but it's an old old pc i admit lol.

the game format will be probably in the snes as it is able to handle better graphics. i may even scrap the idea and write it in C/C++ but we'll see how time goes.

That sounds like a good idea.  ^^  Are you thinking of a normal looking-down view RPG, or a platformer with RPG elements?

it will be a final fantasy 5 style rpg layout with windows at the bottom.

the base engine is complete. i've just got to animate and add plot to it lol

EDIT: Oops, I just re-read the first post.

But it still sounds interesting.
