To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Teyandee, a brand new video game is in development.
By the overwhelming response to the video game announcement trailer it’s very clear that even after 35 years Samurai Pizza Cats / Teyandee still evokes very strong emotions in so many people around the world. It’s heartwarming to see so much love for the franchise!

I work as the lead animator and key artist at BLAST ZERO, a dutch video game company.
I supervise the quality of the visuals on the video game production. All contents of the announcement trailer have been created in-house at our production studio. The game is currently in early production.

Authenticity is something we really aimed for when we started this dream project. Our studio feels truly blessed to collaborate with many of the talented people that have worked on the original anime from both the Teyandee and Samurai Pizza Cats production side. We have so much love and respect for all the hard working crew that have helped create the original anime 35 years ago. As fans ourselves we strive to pay tribute to this masterpiece.

Over the last couple of years I’ve done obsessive research on all aspects of the original anime production and reading through this message board and seeing everyone who contributed so much of their time and effort into this anime has retroactively helped me gather so much valuable information about the show. Thank you all for sharing your passionate thoughts and thorough research throughout all these years.

This message board has a very nostalgic vibe to it and I love the fact that it’s still around.
Although practically abandoned now, I’ll promise to keep visiting the Emporium every once in a while, if you do the same we might make it run like it did before or even better hopefully.
I feel Edoropolis Emporium is still the coolest place to gather and connect with core fans.

Today I finally managed to create an account and share some thoughts here! There’s a lot of things on the video game production side that is under NDA, so I cannot talk about anything that is not publicly available about the Samurai Pizza Cats video game. I’m sorry and I hope you understand. I’ll try to share some cool stuff whenever I can!

I personally feel now’s the time to be hopeful of a bright future ahead for the franchise.
For our video game studio, that means working extremely hard to deliver the best video game possible.
I truly hope this sparks some new energy into the fandom and the Emporium becomes the place where fans unite once again.

Wow! I'd like to congratulate you and the entire Blast Zero crew with their outstanding work!
I mean, I can only guess how difficult it must have been to get the rights to even start making the game, let alone the Herculian task to get all original voice actors together in both English and Japanese...
And then produce animation that is as good as indistinguishable from the animation produced by Tatsunoko! I hope it will be a huge success! Instabuy for me!

In the promo, loved Big Cheese's breakout of the standard definition TV bars, and the joke that the actors are recording "as we speak" :-D

This project became quite a difficult secret to keep the longer it progressed, but I’m glad it surprised you and many others with the sudden reveal.

Thank you so much for working so hard and making true a dream that I thought was impossible. Love everything I have seen so far and reading about Mr. Yamaguchi and Ms. Orikasa's feelings after playing Yattaro and Pururun again gave me the goofiest smile ever. I am not sure if you are planning to do two different stories (Teyandee style and SPC style) or just one just changing the names of the characters. I really hope you will include subtitles either way. Again, I thank you so much for this project, Teyandee has been a huge part of my life and seeing it alive again is just wonderful

Tobumaki, as an artist myself that has done everything from pen and ink cartoon characters to realistic pencil drawings to paintings, I am struggling to express in words the sheer enthusiasm and hardcore nerding out that I have been doing at the images I’m seeing posted online of every pencil stroke in the character drawings and each tiny brushstrokes of the landscape paintings. I feel compelled to do some of my own watercolor SPC landscapes - I have a bunch kicking around in my old sketchbooks somewhere, perhaps I’ll find them and post along with a new one.

Hit me up if you wanna do an Aster Crow DLC (haha jk) 

I eagerly (but patiently) await more posts from the Blast Zero artists. You all are amazing.

Where do I even start!?

When I saw the trailer words were just beyond me! To see something like that come off like just a normal episode shows how much care to the source for both SPC and KNT!

And now to get EE back is just the icing on the cake or I guess extra topping to the pizza!

Thanks so much to you and the team for doing this! SPC and KNT has had such a large impact on Media to see it get a new game is just plain awesome!

I do have a question that came up while me and another fan were talking about the game, will characters like Guru Lou, and Lucille be voiced as well?

I saw someone skeet about the trailer video on Bluesky the same day that it dropped and I lost my mind, I did not believe it was real until I put it on my Steam wishlist; I'm so excited to get the game and whatever else can be bought!!

Truthfully I would never had expected the devs to find this quaint little forum, which has remained dormant for many years, but here's to the revival of it all!
