Two fangames for the PC have made it onto my personal "WHY MUST YOU BE SO STINKIN' HARD?!" list.

The first is "I Wanna Be The Guy", the game that takes everything you know about death traps and video game nostalgia and ups the difficulty a few notches. Dying in one hit. Taking on a giant Mike Tyson. The MOON ITSELF falling down and CHASING AFTER YOU. The quote in my signature was from a Let's Play that someone did of the game, and it's as absurd as it sounds. I'm still stuck somewhere between the first and second bosses, and it's been somewhere between 6-11 months since I first got the game.

The second is "Megamari", a (rather well-done, actually) Megaman clone featuring Touhou characters and characteristics. I've actually managed to beat it, unlike the prior example, but each and every one of the stages tested the limits of my patience... to say nothing of the game's final fortress, which MUST be beaten in one sitting. "Dodge this," indeed.

Trying to 100% Super Meat Boy is getting to be very challenging.

Space Ace for Super Nintendo. As a kid, I could never beat it. I still can't beat it.

Defeating Olga in European Extreme Mode, in Metal Gear Solid 2. I've beaten all Metal Gear Solid Series in the hardest levels, and still nothing beats that boss battle.

When I was still in college, I staid at my university one summer and took classes to make sure i graduated on time.  Anyway, in the summer there is no one at all around, and at the time that movie The King of Kong had just come out.  So being the dummy that I am, I tried to get close to the scores in that movie to see if I could get near those guys (my university had an old Donkey Kong cabinet in the student center)...  Bad, bad idea; I nearly ended up with carpal tunnel and that movie does not show how hard Donkey Kong really is.
