Title: Re: Just a reminder- Post by: Mechadon on January 01, 2011, 06:20:35 pm Why do Speedy/polly have tiger stripes all over them?
Title: Re: Just a reminder- Post by: Mr.NoName on January 01, 2011, 07:35:18 pm Why do Speedy/polly have tiger stripes all over them? Because they want to get down with their 'wild' selves ?:| Title: Re: Just a reminder- Post by: KyoZaber on January 02, 2011, 03:05:47 am I'm not sure how accurate Wikipedia is on this... but according to that this is the year of the "Metal" Rabbit. :O
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hare_%28zodiac%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hare_%28zodiac%29) As for Speedy & Polly's "Lightning Bolts", I think we'd just passed the year of the "Metal" Tiger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_%28zodiac%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_%28zodiac%29) So I kinda agree with No Name, they're expressing their wild side of the cat family. =] This makes me wonder... In Little Tokyo, would the Year of the Rabbit end up being a year long celebration geared towards the city's fair queen & princess? Hmm... If so... What would it be like? Title: Re: Just a reminder- Post by: felineki on January 02, 2011, 05:09:45 am Yeah, last year was the year of the Tiger, so that's what's up with Speedy and Polly down there. The big kanji next to them is for the sign of the Tiger, and the big kanji next to Violet is "rabbit" (the normal word for "rabbit", not the one for the zodiac sign, for whatever reason). "2011NENHA WARAWANOTOSIJYA" means "2011 is my year!", and "SIMANAGASI" is, or course, "exile to an island" (it's hard to find Japanese fanart of Violet that doesn't include this phrase in some form...)
Title: Re: Just a reminder- Post by: Tigriss on January 04, 2011, 08:17:38 am I should do some Princess Vi fanart to commemorate this occasion. And I feel bad that I let the Year of the Tiger slip by so easily, especially considering my fondness for the big felines.
