The movie that they were making fun of in the MST3K movie was on TV a couple of months back. It's just not the same.  Tongue

True...unless you have memorized all the jokes in it like I have ^^;

Meh... it still feels weird. :p Kinda like watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show on TV.  Grin

My only problem with MST3K..

The series had many more episodes featuring Mike than they did Joel.
I like Joel over Mike because Joel actually has that deranged stranded in space behavior down to a T.

This guy always looks tired, and whenever the bosses give him any guff, instead of getting angry, he just takes it and responds like a poor kid on anti-depressents and mood stabilizers. Like a true lonely guy in space who actually would go mad if it weren't for his robot friends. Mike kind of kills this in my opinion. Still a great show. I enjoy the B-Movies even by themselves, but MST3K commentary will forever be welcome.

I recommend MST3K to anyone. Download a few Higher Quality MST3K Movies, get a bowl of popcorn, a 2 liter of Ginger Ale. Sit back in a chair. And feel at peace with the world as you watch a guy and two robots talk smack about the movie you and them are watching.

Since I just moved into a new place smack-dab in the middle of the country, I've been going through some of my tapes to see what's on them. On a few tapes, bunched in with recorded anime episodes, were snippets of MST3K episodes---some I'd forgotten about.  One of my tapes contains portions of my 2nd favorite, "Hamlet" (my 1st favorite being the movie with the endless sandstorm). I haven't gotten to it yet, but I know it's in here somewhere.

I have MST3K to blame (sort of) for one of my habits: talking to the television when something I don't like comes on. For instance, if a car commercial comes on and tells the viewer about paying 0% interest, I say: "Well, you're right about one thing: I have zero-percent interest" (that was bad, sorry).

I kind of regret not watching the show more often while it was airing (and recording them whenever I could). It was a cheap source of amusement, but I've preferred it that way.  Small wonder that out of all the characters on the show, I've always rather liked Bobo.

Lol! Good one. I've started doing the same. I was watching TV with the family. A commercial for a local auto-show came on. The announcer said, "and there will be something special for NASCAR fans!" and I blurt out, "Wow! They're giving out welfare checks!"
