people, i have an announcement 4 score and some 12 odd hours ago, a new generation of gaming appeared. Here, in America, we (or me at least ) now celebrate the 19th as National Nintendo Rox Day. Viva le Revolution! Today is... WII LAUNCH DAY!man, does it feeeeeeeeeeel good!

I know someone who lived down at Microsoft, and there was a HUGE party thrown shortly after Nintendo revealed the name "Wii" because they thought it was the most absurd thing they ever heard. True story. I'm just teasin about the previous post though. Wii games look pretty sick. When I had my original Nintendo I used to make fun of my Mom for moving her controller in the air whenever she tried to get Mario to jump over something. And now I'm telling her that this console is perfect for her But I'm not gonna go out and wait in the freezing cold with obsessive game nerds and agressive parents for 5 hours to wait in line for a system. People are absolutely insane. I even heard that the mayor of New York is trying to make game companies pay for added police protection because people are getting out of control. *rolls eyes*

Indeed. I know we all want entertainment, but seriously... this kind of crap is beyond ridiculous.

I agree, people have gone nuts for console-based gaming over the last few years and have started making it an unhealthy obsession. Video games are something to do when its a rainy day or to pass a few hours here and there, but I've watched it shift from an activity/hobby to a lifestyle where people will actually get vehement over games and console brands. These people need to step outside and see that a little box full of silicon chips isn't the most important thing in their lives.

The victims were actually in the process of being mugged, if you're talking about the same reports I've read. @_@
From a criminal's point of view, an unguarded line full of people waiting to by something extremely expensive is, well... a goldmine.
