First of all I'm new so if I make a fool of myself or if I'm being inappropriate please tell me so.

I recently had acquired the Samurai Pizza Cats (SPC) cartoons and because someone said that there is quite a difference between the Samurai Pizza Cats and Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (KNT) I became intressted in KNT. Finding the a KNT took me sometime but in the end I found this site which also had redirections to unsubbed episodes.
I noticed that a few episodes were subbed and I watched bits and parts off it. And I fall in love with KNT as well.

Since I loved it so much, I decided that I want to see the other episodes translated as well. I even wanted to create my own fansubbing group but since 1) I never had done that before and 2) there already is one doing that, I decided not to do that and first see if there is anything I can help to speed up the process or help in any otherway.

In short: I'm offering help in anyway that's needed.
Except translating from japanese, I'm willing and able to help with anything from timing, proofreading to encoding. Of course, if no help is needed than the only thing I can do is being supportive.

I know that Tigriss is the creator of this project. And I understand that the project is still active. If any of these is wrong, please correct me.

The only questions I still have is:
What is the fastest way to notify the current project leader of my help? (if needed, of course)
And with what can I help?

Recently I exchaged e-mails with Tigriss, she is finishing the final edition of KNT 03. Who knows if we can see a new subbed episode soon.

Well, I'm the one responsible for the raw translation of some KNT episodes (Tigriss and others make the final revision of my text, since I'm not a native English speaker). I want to declare that have not been paid for them though (but I shall accept any donation happily)  Wink. Actually, besides eps 03, I finished the translation of eps 04 months ago, and now made my first version of the eps 31 translation.
It is my faulty have not announced the progress of our work lately, because this cause an impression that nothing has been done. I know that lack of new releases makes people worried, but this work has been carried out in the best way we can do. I personally wished that releases would be done quickier, but sometimes we cannot get what desired.
Morevover, you were not obliged to stop translating KNT. There is no unique way to translate texts, so if you wish may make your own project. That was my initial intention before contacting Tigriss, but after this ended up becoming part of Project Dream.

I've tried downloading the 2nd KNT episode a couple of times from http://knt.shin-getter.net/ a couple of times, but when it finishes it won't play, is there a codec I need to download to play it?

Well. Keep us updated about it. I want to know the entire progress about it so that I can keep supporting you and Tigriss. Tigriss mostly. Smiley

I had problems with that episode a while back, too. Downloading it from Nyanki Fanatics worked for me, but unfortunately, N-F seems to be down at the moment.

Ahh ok. Was hoping it wasn't just me.

Tigriss and everyone else thanks so much for the translations, I have watched episode 1, and it's nice to finally know what they're saying, have had a VHS copy of the first 4 KNT episodes for like 9 years now, hehe.

Ah, sorry Daisensei if you thought I was chastizing you, the community here is usually rather elitist.  When I came around last time with teasers of episode one I was chewed out fo r wanting to do my own project while Tigriss had been saying she was arranging for paid translations.   Something to that effect.  I applaud your efforts, I was just kinda dumbfounded that it haden't progressed a bit from the atmosphere that was here before.  *cheers*  Grin

Wow.  Shocked This community was once elitist? I did not know that.
Oh, but with with my previous experience in forums, I can easily guess who was the source of that elitism.

I haven't felt any elitism actually, but well, this is my personal point of view and may be wrong. When I offered myself to transcribe and translate episodes, really was advised to ask Tigriss; but I never felt that was denied by any member of the board. This history may be seen in these old posts. Perhaps my perception would be too optimistic, but I feel this board as being mostly open.
For the sake of veracity, although the Edoropolis Emporium is a open space (if one follows the rules, of course), the Project Dream is not. Tigriss is its leader, so she is who defines how the work will go. If one doesn't agree with this, may perfectly start an another project, either in open or close way of working.
Otherwise, in the Teyandee manga translation thread it is possible to see that it functions in an espontaneous and open model of working.

Explanations and "other stuff" is coming guys, just give me a some time.....

For now: I was paying some people to help translate KNT. Then Matsumoto-sensei came along and offered to help for free. Be grateful to this guy.

Please do NOT get impatient.  There is more going on than you might think, and this is not easy work, especially for people who have other things to do in their lives.  I'm not at liberty to tell you everything I know, but I will tell you that KNT 3 will be released.  I'm not saying "should be" "might be" or "probably will be", I'm saying "will be".

If you think you can do this work, by all means, feel free to jump in and start.  There are 54 KNT episodes, even if Project Dream could release one a month, it would take years to do them all.  If you have the skill and tools to translate and subtitle episodes, start your own project.  Just pick an episode that isn't being worked on yet so we don't waste our time doing the same work twice.  It's not a matter competing, it's a big job and there's a lot to do.

As for me, I will assist anyone and everyone who sincerely wants to make the effort.  I have raw episodes, original scripts for many episodes, and a very basic knowledge of Japanese.

I'm not saying I would do a better job or say that I would like to do it. I don't have the intelligence to do such a project.

I'm just saying that some of us would like an update or two. That's all. I mean, hadn't heard anything since April should say something, right?

Just fiinished watching Episode 3. You all did a wonderful job. Extra points go to whoever sub-titled the Cat's Eye Slash. That was awsome.

Can't wait for the next one. Episode 4 is a special one for me. Just like Star Wars, It's the first SPC episode I watched.  Tongue
