First thing I noticed in the manga version is that the character designs are quite a bit closer to what we see in the show than the manga that KNT02 was based on. I suppose the character designs were finalized some time between when the two manga chapters were made. I had figured that "Roboscoop" was a pun on "Robocop", but the manga takes it a step further and gives him a rather blatant imitation of Robocop's design. Karamaru's "and then we can go to Hawaii" bit made me laugh quite a bit. Grin It was pretty strange to see Pururun with Wolverine claws.

Some of the jokes in this manga chapter ended up in later KNT episodes in some form. For example, KNT05 ("Idol Tanjou? Geinokai no amai wana", aka "Singing Samurai Sensation") includes the shovel/shaberu pun, and the two mecha in that same episode are based on Somenosuke and Sometarou. A turtle character based on Mr. Maric also shows up in KNT26 ("Daibouken! Zekkouchou wo sagase", aka "Cold and Crabby in Little Tokyo") as one of the healers trying to cure the shogun's cold. He even uses the "Hand Power!" phrase.

After the very informative review of Felineki, I wish to express my opinion about this episode. KNT 03 is the one that I most loved among the earlier episodes of the series. The first two episodes are kind of introduction to the show, so they wouldn't go as smooth as the later episodes. Besides, I didn't like the KNT 04 very much, it's less funny in my opinion (by the way it has been transcribed by me, but don't ask me about release date). What is the bit that I most liked in the KNT 03? Lucille of course! She blowing up Bad Bird is the part that I most liked.  Grin In this episode Bad Bird called Lucille "Missile Girl" for the first time. I shouldn't say that Lucille is my favorite character, but she plays a very important role in the series (anyone that has watched KNT 53 would figure out what I mean).

Talking about the translating work, it was the episode that I most wanted to see subtitled, and actually its Japanese script has been started before KNT01-02. After some delay, it has been roughly translated by ApacheMan2k and revised by me and by Tigriss. Everyone that has seen my work on translating mangas would know that my English is far from the perfection, so without their valuable work this release wouldn't reach the quality that it has.

Be sure to read the original comic this episode was based on too!

One thing I noticed in the comic is that Omitsu never launches, despite plently of reasons for her to do so.

I'm confused... KNT was based off of a manga series?  Yikes!

Where can I find the other mangas?

I'm not certain about the details, but yes, there was a KNT manga by Hamada Yoshimi, at least some of which apparently predates the TV series. All of the chapters were later published in a collection book that looks like this:

I don't have this book myself, all I've seen of it are the two chapters scanned and translated by Project Dream (the other being the one KNT02 was based on).

I thought Omitsu's lack of missile launching was odd, too. Instead, she seems to have taken up boxing. Tongue

Well, I've said quite a bit about the manga, but I haven't said anythng about the subbed episode yet! Great work, the OP and ED karaoke were very cool. Definitely helpful for any fans who want to learn how to sing the songs. One thing I was particularly impressed with was how the Gotton/gatten pun was translated into English, it works perfectly.

I'll buy this book if I can ever find it. Looks awesome.

Dah..she is a Geisha!

KNT started as a short manga series that got mostly unnoticed, when the author had the chance to take part in doing an anime of KNT, he decided to not doing more manga. Since KNT was very little know before the anime, and no official manga was made during and after the show airing in Japan, that why it is said that KNT had no official manga.

Sorry, my server was shut down when I was going off to vacation. Anyone could help Kagereneko to get the manga? In the worst case, he must wait until February, when I return to my job.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but edit this panel of the manga. I thought it was hilarious. Grin

I finally could he 3rd subbed episode and I love how the subtitles were made for this one... Specially when the newspapers are rolling and the Neko Me Slash fading font... I enjoyed a lot this one cause it feels really similar to SPC, even some jokes are almost the same...

THANKS A LOT!!

This is the episode I usually watch on youtube. It's amazing that this episode has so many edits. Karamaru whipping Omichan and Pururun literraly scratching the blood out of the ninja crows eyes. Does she usually do that to her foes?
