One of the problems we have is that we just don't show enough appreciation to the people who do the work around here. We have some real dedicated people in our community who do a lot of work. They don't get paid for it, and way too often they don't even get a "thank you". I realized this myself recently. I was feeling that no one really appreciated what I do. But then I realized that I haven't really shown much appreciation to everyone else. We all get wrapped up in our own business and forget about everyone else.
So, I've been making an effort to get out and let people know that they are appreciated. I've been on AIM more chatting with people, finding out what they are working on. And I've decided to bring back my award program. I think awards are no replacement for a "thank you" and some real appreciation, but it is a nice symbol to show that the work they've done hasn't gone unnoticed.
The "Supreme Pizza Cats Page Award" (SPCPA) is for web pages only. I did have another award, the "SPC Kicks Butt Award" for other SPC related activities worthy of notice. I'll be restarting or replacing that award soon, but for now, here are the first 2005 winners of the SPCPA:
Edoropolis Emporium 1st Award, July 19, 2005
I wouldn't have considered a message bord for the award before, but this place isn't just some commercial board being used by SPC fans, it was made just for us, and has a distinct SPC Theme to the whole place.
Nyanki Fanatics 1st Award, July 19, 2005
I think you'd have a hard time finding anyone who works so hard for SPC fans as Tigriss. Nyanki Fanatics is a real asset to us.
Polly Ester's Shrine 3rd Award, July 19, 2005
Yes, this is Polly's 3rd time getting the award!
The SPC Fan Art Archive 1st Award, July 19, 2005
Aside for being a home for fan art, this page is just really well designed, it looks great.
The award's home is
http://members.aol.com/PrncssVi/award.htmlOther pages can be reviewed for the award at any time by request, but you have to wait a year before you can get it again after winning.
