What can I say about this episode?  Well, first of all, it was the very first episode of SPC I EVER saw in its entirety.  And it was also the only episode back in the day where I understood alot of the humor of.  But even still, there were things that I didn't get at all.  Well, in my older and wiser years, I've had the fortune (thanks in part to this site) of seeing the episode again.

And now I remember why I thought it was hilarious back in the day.  Because it is.  First off, the Nuclear Potato concept.  Now this was brilliant for two reasons.  First, it needed to be saved (Bad Bird sacrifices his men and almost sacrifices himself...  for a potato), second, the microwave at the end was just ironic.  Bad Bird seriously thought the potato was glowing because it was radioactive, and Big Cheese was just cooking a regular one.  That's the kind of quirky humor that really makes SPC a nostalgia trip of a show.

But then it gets better, or should I say it already did, since these points aren't in chronological order at all.  You've got Speedy doing his finishing move, with the Narrator actually telling you why he does the same sequence in every episode, in excruciating detail.  Like, in case any kids would've been wondering, this is why he has to finish every bad guy off in the same way.  This was something I just never picked up on as a kid.

Then of course, there's the infamous line of the episode.  "Is this the end of the Pizza Cats?  After only SEVEN Episodes?"  I crack up every time I hear that line.

So...

Positive

 - Nuclear friggin Potato.  Come on!  How can you not laugh?!
 - Explaning why the finishing move is in every episode.  No Anime I've ever seen has ever done that before.
 - "Is this the end of the Pizza Cats?  After only SEVEN Episodes?"

Negative

 - Francine doesn't have mich screentime (she had a screen time of about 30 seconds).
 - No Princess Vi.  Well, maybe a glimpse, but no actual lines.  I don't know how you'd add her in this episode, but she's awesome.  She should have her own theme song.

This was the episode that finally got me turned into an SPC fanatic. I had seen a few episodes prior in the morning before school, but there is just something very nostalgic about this one. It was the first episode I ever taped ^_^ Sadly, all my VHS tapes are gone (dunno whatever happened to them) Sad I used to color pizza cats on the top of the plastic area with colored pencil so I knew which episodes were on each VHS.

Nuclear Potato has an A+ from me :7

It was amazing! I vaguely remember it then, but I love it, now! I mean, I realize that this kind of episode is the kind that teaches you that you can eat a Nuclear Potato, provided that it's safely cooked in a microwave. Suddenly, I want to get a box of those Hungry Jack Awww Gratin Potatoes, or even the Chedder-Bacon type for myself. I love those! What can I say? It got me in the mood for potatoes!
