Any out there play Command and Conquer? Or at least one of the games in the series?
C&C, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun (eww), Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenger, and Generals or Zero Hour?

Out of them all, for the classics, Yuri's Revenge was just plain AWESOME!!! (no matter what Burke says) and Zero Hour was great once you got the patch.

The concept of Command and Conquer is that you build up your base as either the good guys (GDI or the Allies) or the bad guys (Brotherhood of Nod or the Soviets or Yuri) and build tanks and kick serious butt.

I think it was Command and Conquer that started the whole, beam of death from the sky idea (Ion Cannon) that we know and love today. (Akira's was different...)

As for gameplay, you gathered resources and then built up your factories and just pumped out those heavy tanks, or Mammoth/Apocalypse tanks if your GDI or the Soviets.  Lots of flash, and lots of carnage!!

I have Red Alert and Tiberian Sun, but Red Alert is still the most fun to me. I even made maps then edited them(AKA, Nurple)so I could use civilians as soldiers Grin

Modding C&C games was the best part about it too.

In one of my silly gameplay mods for Tiberian sun, I made it where GDI could build this missile truck that was so incredibly unbalanced, that it could wipe out a base from miles away.
Then for Yuri's Revenge, I was working on a vehicle that would "Pop" a Kirov (big huge blimp of death) but I couldn't get it to work.

Making maps was also fun, because you could make maps that didn't suck.

A fleet of 100 Kirovs = Win

I wish I could get that many, but the most I've ever had at once was about 25.

I loved my ol tactic on Soviets. Build a mother load of Flak Traks, a mother load of engineers, load 'em up and just send  'em into the enemy base. Sure you'll lose a lot of guys, but you can cap their entire base in 30 seconds.

They called me.. the butcher.

Superweapon general is evil, as well as the airforce general.
All I can say as the superweapon general is,
Bring
It
ON!!

And burke, if the guy is smart and builds walls around the expensive stuff (con yards, battle labs) then an assault like that isn't really worth the resources.

Now as the french, you build a grand cannon 99% of the way and pause its construction, and build a new con-yard close to his base.
DEATH FROM AFAR!!

I've only played the original on the PS1 but I thought it was pretty fun. I never was good at it though and I would often use cheats to win a level.

Believe it or not, the first one for PS1 is more difficult than RA2 or Yuri's Revenge.  They send waaay more stuff at you in the first one than in the others.

My tactic:  Siege Choppers.  Waaay faster than Kirovs, cheaper, and can mount into nice handy cannons on land.  10 of these is instant death for an enemy base, especially on an all-land map.
