It has certainly been a while. LOL I haven't been to this forum in a few years. (I've been rather lost in the sauce)

Ok, so a few guys are changing the textures.

LOL that pretty much describes more than a good 2/3 of games on the Wii. But what can I say? I've always liked the Smash Bros. Series. It's really the only reason why I bought it. That, and for the homebrew apps and such.

Melee was a superb product for it's time.
A true testament to Nintendo's work, and everything it had developed.

Brawl had a chance to capture that lightning in a bottle one more time. It was a successful failure.
It succeeds in bringing a great library of games & characters together, and expanding the "Smash Universe" to new heights.

Where it fails is bringing players together in a more tight fashion. It's online mode is decent, however I would think that if Bungie can manage barely any lag in a 3-Dimentional world with bullets, Nintendo should be able to manage things just as well, if not better in a simple 2-D world with items and a limit of 4 players. This is just my opinion of course.

In the end, it's a pretty nifty game. It could've been a bit better though.

Don't get me wrong. There are things that bother me alot about Brawl, like the lack of alternate costumes, characters, the Subspace emissary, etc. But that's another topic for another time. I just wanted to let people know that it is possible to change the textures in the game with ones you make or modify. That, is pretty aweseum.

Brawl is very similar to the old SSB of N64, in order to enjoy the game, you must play with three more players, is the unique way to maintain fresh and funny the game. The game on Line simply does not exist (too much time of delay). in addition, it lacks of diversity in the suits and in new options of the game, and the balance of the caracters can be very unequal.

I never really understood the popularity behind the series. I mean, everybody talks about how cool it is, everybody made such a big fuss over it for a good few years before it finally came out, everybody hunches their faces over the screen... But is the motley selection of characters the only thing going for it? I've played it myself and it actually sucks for a fighting game, but then I never was into fighting games even though I tried very hard to like Mortal Kombat which at least was a real kind of fighting game.

I found myself getting sucked into wanting to buy the game as soon as I found out they were gonna put Sonic in it, but then I thought to myself "So what?" What's so cool about fighting with your favorite character from a random game against someone with his favorite character from a random game? It could have the Pizza Cats vs. Ren & Stimpy vs. Sweet Tooth for all I care, it's just a crossover grab bag.

Now you see, there'd be people like myself that would disagree.
While it essentially is lumping all the characters into a fighting game, it's not a bad fighting game for those who like it.
In fact, it's my kind of fighting game.

1) I don't have to mash ungodly complex button combinations to pull of a character's special move.
2) The story is easy to follow.
3) I have a group of friends that actually enjoy sitting down and duke it out on this game.
4) You can go from king of the hill to last place depending on the items that appear and who gets them.

The game does have its flaws, and some "hard core" fighting game people probably do find Brawl to be a complete waste of their time.

However for a Nintendo Fan this game also represents a major building block in the fandom. Using the Super Smash Bros series, those who care to do so can act out plenty of the "What If" scenarios they've always wanted to do. Granted, the what if is skewed by the player, however I do believe that the system has the ability to set up 2 CPU characters and have them duke it out.

Also as far as Fan Artists go, this game is an excellent way to have certain characters "model" for you in certain poses, and allow the artist to zoom in, rotate, and do a few other things to allow them to draw fan art to a higher detail.

... Oh well... In any case... Different Strokes for Different Folks I guess.

It still sounds like a retarded concept, even with the "what if's".

I have an idea: let's make a Looney Tunes fighter, complete with 16 playable characters at once in online mode, Bug's Bunny's alternate crossdressing outfits, Foghorn Leghorn's in-your-face incessant rambling combo doing 56 hit points of damage, Wile E. Coyote's Rube Goldberg-style fatality, and a code to unlock Michael Jordan who would have his basketball projectiles and his Michael Jordan cologne spray which would be his equivalent of Pepe le Pew's stink stunner spray. Holy fartballs, that would be totally sweet.

I wouldn't be surprised if anyone's already drooling over this idea.
