i used to use notepad for my html also. sometimes it's easier to use the absolute basics when writing code.

...though i later switched to dreamweaver because it was easier for the right side of my brain to comprehend visually, and i just fixed up the generated code later.

When I visit for first time the Internet, some years ago, one of the first pages that I saw  is " Princess Vi' s Spiffy Diffy". It is good to knowing that it continues here . Thanks Vi to keep alive your web page!

I remember when I used to get jealous of all the other webmasters and tried to make my own (with little success) just to be 'in the crowd'. Eventually I did manage to get something up, but when I found out how much of a hassle it was, I decided it wasn't worth it. Besides, the server I had used (Xoom) had changed hands and discontinued web-hosting or something.

As soon as I switched to broadband, I also began to slowly realize how much of a waste AOL is. Why pay a rediculous amount of money for a service with uselessly fancy buttons that sucks half your connection speed when you could get everything for free? Hotmail,  Yahoo, Internet Explorer and AIM pretty much negated the need for it.

But I did miss receiving the 'extra toppings' version of Vi's SPC Review, which was only available to AOL subscribers.

Speaking of which...did you say free e-mail service? Does this mean anyone can get the extra toppings version now? Does that still exist?

I've finished moving my web page to Edoropolis.org, but I still need to go through a lot of the pages that were not hosted on AOL but have links back to the AOL URL and update those links.
