Let face it, "The Simpsons" is the funniest animated show ever and everyone likes it. So I'm sure I'm able to hit a large demographic with this topic.

The question is simple: What's your favourite episode? I know. There's so many to choose from. Took me some serious pondering for me to figure it out.

My favourite is the Lemon Tree episode. Never a dull moment. The same can be said for countless other episodes, but for me it represents the epicenter of a very wide range of top quality episodes.

I think it is my most frequently quoted episode and I have frequently taken various instances from it into the context of my everyday life.

I've always pushed for every team I'm assembled in to be called Team Discovery Channel. I pushed a friend to create a moded Red Alert 2 map titled "The Impenetrable Fortress of Suburbia".

And I seem to be able to say "There's a doin's transpiring" on a weekly basis. Homer's Shelbyvillian double is my favourite one-time-only character; I find myself imitating him quite often.

Take your time with this, and if you got a shotty memory or can't name a specific episode then describe the funniest thing you've seen on the show.

Aww, D-Mac beat me too it. 'You Only Move Twice' is a brilliant episode.

"As a matter of fact, I didn't even give you my coat!"

As for moments, I'd have to say The Ramones singing Happy Birthday for Mr. Burns. "Go to Hell, you old bastard!"

Wow. I am gratified but not surprised by the turnout for this thread. All great submissions so far (but really, who can go wrong?). Keep 'em coming!

I strongly agree with the poster formally known as Harm ( Cosmopolis / Purinsu (Prince)) ; any episode with Sideshow Bob is a top-notch episode, and this one is the cream of the crop.

Bringing this one back because this scene had my mates and I in stiches the other night:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*The RVs in the Simpson's backyard are pouring exhaust fumes into the Flanders' house*

Rod: "Daddy, all the fumes are making me dizzy."
Ned: "Now Roddy, the lord wouldnt let us die this way."
Jesus: "That's right Ned. Now you three take a little nap, while I make some hot chocolate."
Rod & Ned: "Yaaay!" *pass out*
*sinister music plays*

I wouldn't call it the funniest show, especially since recent years the show has been in a decline to some but in my opinion, it's still and enjoyable show to watch. I love the Konami arcade game (awesome music). I prefer the earlier episodes when Bart got more focus time then he does now (these days they'll focus either on Homer or Lisa -_-). I'm glad they're airing some of the early episodes currently.

Right, even though he still did bad things like those, he would at least learn his lesson. With his tone of voice back then, he seemed a little bit more innocent. I loved the episode where the three bullies got him to cut down the Springfield Founder's head off and that episode showed that Bart has some respect for Springfield. And the episode that introduced Nelson where he keeps beating up Bart and later he and his grandfather gather Springfield Elementary to declare war against him. Bart really made me sad when he cried for Homer for advice. Cry

And she would've gotten away with it too! If it weren't for those meddling Sampson kids... and their dog! ... Who hadn't been introduced yet.

My favorite Simpsons episode eh? ... Well... Honestly... I love 'em all.
If I had to pick a favorite to be stuck with for all eternity... I'd have to go with The Treehouse of Horror 5.

I loved the spoofs, and the constant Groundskeeper Willie gag.

'Summer of 4'2' and 'Lisa's Wedding'. Also absolutely love 'Treehouse of Horror IV' ...

Homer: Lisa, vampires are make-believe! Just like elves, gremlins, and Eskimos.

I just recently bought Season Eight on DVD (mainly because of 'You Only Move Twice'). I'd forgotten how many great episodes it had: 'Lisa's Date With Destiny' ("You kissed a girl!" "That is so gay!"), 'The Springfield Files', 'Mountain Of Madness', 'Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment', 'In Marge We Trust' ("Say your prayers, you heathen baboons!"), and 'Homer's Enemy'.

Plus, of course, another great Sideshow Bob episode, 'Brother From Another Series'.
Bob: "You again?!? Well that's it. I'm going to do something I should have a long time ago!"
Back at the Simpson house, Marge answers a knock on the door.
Bob: "Madam, your children are no more (pause)...than a pair of ill-bred troublemakers."
Homer: "Lisa too?"
Bob: "Especially Lisa! But especially Bart. If he crosses me one more time, just once more, well, I can't be held responsible for my actions." Leaves.
Homer: "Well, I hope Bob fed you, cause I ate both your dinners."
