I had just a question. Is it legal to try to make the spc soundtracks yourself because I might want to try to make them myself but I don't know if that is allowed to place on the internet.

It probably would be, just as the sharing of episodes we do on the forum here is probably illegal. However, with SPC being a long forgotten show that is currently bringing no profit to any of its' rights holders, the chances of anyone actually caring and acting on it are very small.

The thing is though, with access only to the finished episodes (and in suboptimal quality at that) to work from, I doubt you'd be able to put together much of a soundtrack. You'd be able to get the opening and ending themes, but all the background music during the show is going to have dialog and sound effects over it.

Ah, I see. I've actually been doing something along those lines with the KNT soundtrack myself, transcribing songs to MIDI format. At any rate, it's highly unlikely anyone will give you any trouble if you were to go about remaking and sharing songs from SPC, even if it's technically breaking copyrights.

I use FL Studio. It's a pretty useful overall music production program, you can just make and export MIDI sequences with it, or you can render audio files using samples, Soundfonts, VSTi plugins, etc.

well, Ive been trying do make the ost but not with some program anymore but just trying to find some moments during the series where you only hear the ost...but now I've been realizing that not all the epis have the same sound quality so I had the question to flash if it was possible to get the French epis, I believe they got the same ost as the American one and all the episodes probably have the same sound queality  Tongue

That's a cool idea. I thought about asking someone to do that before, but could only think of one person who was musically inclined at the time.

Speaking of which, have you been working on any lately? I rather liked them.

No, I haven't done much on that front lately, I'm afraid. I do have quite a few sequences that are in the very beginning stages that I haven't posted yet, and I might upload those soon just for the heck of it. I need to reinstall FL Studio before I can do that, though (formatted my computer recently since it got hit by a pretty bad virus).

But anyway, I'm certainly planning to get back to sequencing eventually, but I've been considering switching to MODs (more specifically IT) rather than MIDIs since that would give a more consistent and likely better sounding result. However, that requires gathering up a good collection of base instrument sounds, and that will probably take a while. Tongue

Also, midis and mods tend to not play at all in some sound cards.... may you please be sure to make ogg versions of those music files, even if they take some space more? Thank you!
