Well I decided to start a new thread to keep track of my progress on my revived 3D Speedy project. To celebrate this topic's creation I offer up a short youtube clip.

Very nice! You managed to get the movement of the shoulder pads to look quite natural, that's something that I've been wondering about how to do for my own modelling attempts (which still haven't really gotten anywhere... I just spend a lot of time thinking about how I might go about making them work, rather than actually working on them ). If you do end up doing Violet or Francine, I'll be interested in seeing how you make their kimonos work, as that's another feature I've done a lot of wondering about.

It's funny you should say that =) Actually I'm not concerned with the kimono. Though it may just be the bliss of ignorance and short-sightedness at this point! I just needed to take a break from Speedy. Animation is fun and really satisfying when you get something looking how you wanted, but I'm a painter/illustrator/craftsman first.

Little update. I'm probably gonna go back to try and finish up Speedy's various animations before I work too much more on Vi here. I'm pretty happy with how she's progressing though.

Yeah everything still needs a lot more work. Her cheeks are a bit off still, mostly I was just happy after getting her eyes filled in to see a much better character likeness. For now, everything is just going to be put into a warcraft 3 map, but the possibility to use them for other things is always open.

I think the next model I work on will either be BadBird or a ninja crow. I don't really have a plan for the map other than I'm thinking yeah, hero tavern for good guys and bad guys, and the map would be edoropolis with maybe a counter for giant monster attacks / pizza orders? Fight your way through ninja crows to deliver the pizza, get money/experience, defeat the monster before he destroys the Pizza Cat/Palace? Yeah..

No no, not like Metal Slug which is a platformer. This is Warcraft 3 which the map would be like a hack n slash RPG like Diablo.

Well I wish there were (subjunctive form! English teacher! AAAAH) some open-source 3D game development tool like the world editor without having to own a licensed copy of warcraft 3 to play games on it. Really it seems Blizzard could just carry-over a few files and make a tool for that and just have the developers pay a (small? "justified"?) fee to create and publish, then users could just download the game data files.
As for a progress update, I was working on tweaking Vi's feet and then worked back up under her kimono. Maybe I will post that on nihonbare later... Low-poly super-deformed anthropomorphic nude bunny princess. Great piece for a portfolio.

It's great to see you doing Pizza Cat fanart and stuff again, Ex. ^_^
Now I wish I'd kept up with that 3D modeling program I was studying a few years ago.
