Not really a fan of the last name 'Manx' for Francine. I don't think it suits her ... plus a Manx cat typically doesn't have a tail! Seeing as its not official, I've been thinking about what surname would suit her character better. Anybody got their own ideas?

It's ok to not like the name "Manx" for her since it's not really her name anyway. It doesn't suit her and it was just made up by someone who thought she should have a surname. But yeah, it seems most of the other SPC characters do have one. Unlike Polly Ester and Speedy Servic(h)e, you can't make a good pun out of "Francine". If I were a SPC writer, I would have probably stuck with the pizza theme and named her something like Francine Focaccia (pizza crust).

The name "Francine Manx" was actually coined by White Cat, for those who've been around long enough to remember his page. "Francine Tabbyworth" is one I've seen a couple times in recent years, but doesn't sit quite as well with me.

I just came up with this one...Francine furtail, don't know why and none of the cats actually have a "furry" tail but to be honest, I think her last name must be pretty long, and not short like manx maybe even this one would fit: Francine uppercut

I think that a money-themed surname would suit her a lot better than some sort of food or pun based one. Although I don't have a problem with 'Manx'.

although she is a money maniac, I think a last name about money doesn't fit. I just go for some last name that's just pretty normal

Francine Banks? Haha, that's like a pun of her current fanon surname... How about Francine Cache?

Though to kick something into the pot, while she's got a money thing going on, she's also surrounded by bells. The one on her collar, on her dress (apron?), heck, even on the tip of her tail.
'Francine Bell' is kinda nice come to think of it

This has been fanon for a long time now, and I still like it. Just because Francine isn't a Manx doesn't mean she can't have the last name Manx, like how Tigriss isn't a tigress, or how not everyone with the last name "Smith" is actually a smith. Though to kick something into the pot, while she's got a money thing going on, she's also surrounded by bells. The one on her collar, on her dress (apron?), heck, even on the tip of her tail.
'Francine Bell' is kinda nice come to think of it Wow, looks like someone beat me to it. "Bell" (or "Belle") was an alternative I came up with when I thought about this before. I thought it had a nice ring to it... *gets hauled away for bad puns*
