Apparently there is an actual chain of pizza restaurants in Korea called "Pizza Cat". Here's their website. And here's a photo of one of their pizza boxes (note the little cat face shape in the center of the second "a"). I came across the latter during an image search for "ピザキャット" ("Pizza Cat" written in katakana), and the website address was visible in the photo. The photo came from a blog post about an academic meeting in Korea. The photo was accompanied with this rather amusing sentence: "Pizza... Cat? Seems like I've heard that somewhere before, but maybe it's just my imagination?"

That's awesome! How did none of us find "pizzacat.com" before? (I'm pretty sure some SPC fan owned that domain at some point back in the day)

Looking back with archive.org, it seems that www.pizzacat.com has been about this pizzeria chain at least as far back as 2001. (They had a cute logo around 2003!) www.pizzacats.com did use to be a SPC fansite, but it seems to have closed around 2001.

Lol, that's quite a hilarious find! I can't believe that a restaurant chain actually carries the name "Pizza Cat"! Do they have a cannon mounted on top of each restaurant branch?

And the C on the box actually looks like it was taken from the Contra logo.

In Asia, they arent such crazy copyright freaks as in Europe an America, if they where, the people with the rights for the "King of manga" stuff, could sue a lot of people.
But, I guess thats because they are smart to know that the only real winner are the lawyers...

Whoa! I never knew about this! I'm living in Seoul right now--I'll have to track down one of these restaurants and give it a try. Thanks for the heads up
