i'm sure some of you guys remember Tommy Watson, who posted about his own SPC game project. well, he wants me to say that he is not dead, and neither is his project. he says he doesn't want to rain on Guido64380's parade, but -- as he also says -- he's been working longer than him. he hadn't really figured out which path he wanted to take, but now he believes he has.

finally, he has asked me to post these images below





oh, and i forgot to mention the current cast so far:

wow, that looks really cool.  A new SPC game! Cool  Sadly, I have no voice acting talents and cannot help you out there.  If you need any help with music, midi or otherwise, let me know because I love working on stuff for games/game mods.

now if we could only get the flash project going again...

Parade not rained on. We brought big enough umbrellas. I think I'll leave him to do the platform fighter game and make my game a series of SPC mini-games or something, mabey an SPC racing.

Oh yeah!  I heard about that game.  It's like an old school arcade-style beat em up!  And aren't the characters each supposed to have their own super attack too?

Yeah, finish it, seriously!  I'll play that over and over again!

I'm a cartoon editor so have done some voice acting in the past. Also if you need ANY audio ripped from the series you only have to ask.

As a FYI, i start a degree in a week, which is "computer games design with computer games programming and software engineering" so don't be too surprised if we don't see a 3D SPC game materialise as my year 3 project. Speedy Wink

The similarities between Ganbare Goemon and SPC/KNT are uncanny.  Yikes!
But if you're just trying to point out the clash between 8-Bit sprites and 16-Bit backgrounds, then I do see where you're coming from.

a 3D SPC/KNT game would be nice but, 3D Cartoon based games end up bad due to camera angles, etc.
I think it would be best if you go with a Psuedo 2D/3D SPC game

if they're used the wrong way. unfortunately, a lot of 3D games -- particularly for N64 and PS1 -- have suffered from camera angle issues.

i won't need to worry about camera angles. i know how to program camera's quite well already, and a simple button to reset the camera would all it would need if there is a possibility the camera may go awry.

the main engine for the game is about 40% complete. i'll be posting stuff up about it at some point.
