Listening to a collection of glitched Donkey Kong Country music on Nicovideo. Custom Donkey Kong Country levels have become a big fad there, and in the midst of this fad a strange bug was discovered. What causes it isn't well understood, but something can cause the game's music data to become glitched. The game starts pulling up the wrong sounds for musical tracks, and playing them in the wrong key, leading to some really weird-sounding stuff. |

This weekend, there are two joint concerts called 'Sound Relief' being held in Melbourne and Sydney. The proceeds of both are going to help the victims of the recent devastating bushfires and floods in Victoria and Queensland. Melbourne have definately got the better lineup, and there is a lot of exitement being generated over the renunions of Hunters and Collectors, Split Enz, and, my favourite band, Midnight Oil (whose lead singer is now our federal minister for the environment). The Oils were one of those rare bands that could produce an amazing album, but made their live shows something out of this world. Before the Sound Relief concerts were announced, it was always a source of frustration that I'd never been able to see them live, since I was 16 when they broke up and couldn't go and see them by myself. Well this week I'll be seeing them twice - on Saturday in Melbourne, and also for their warm up concert in Canberra tomorrow night. While I expect to 'Garrett-dance' along to their more famous and faster paced songs like Power and the Passion' and 'Read About It' (a song I love because it savages the media), I really hope they play this: |
