There is a whole bunch o' problems stemming from the recent Hurricane devestation.. Besides the obvious looting and robbing of stores, there is the political side of everything and who to blame for all the problems.

Here is a good video here for you fellas to watch. Mike Meyers and Kayne West are asking for help, lets see how Kayne reacts and says that the US Governement is being racist when it comes to helping the people of NO.

VIDEO HERE.

Your thoughts on this racist stuff? Is it black peoples fault? Governments fault? ANYONE'S fault?

Well there are alot of black gangs hanging around, and them shooting at rescue helicopters and cops just trying to help doesnt do anygood for anyone.

and i find it hilarious how the news is reporting this crap. Black people loot for food while white people " Find " there food harharharhar

it's all the black people's fault, and there gangs, they can't keep themselves from looting and shooting the helping people, so yea there screwing over the other people of New Orleans

also Hurricane's come from Africa, or close to them, therefore we should blame Africa.

im not trying to be racist i'm just telling it like it is, dont like it, to bad.

Do we really need to bring up political and race issues on EE?

It's a mere observation. This is the biggest Hurricane to hit the US in years, but the first thing that people start to think about is racial stuff. How sad is that?

As long as people keep it civil, I'll allow it.

That's not civil. Nor is it funny, if that's what you were aiming for.
New Orleans is 70% black. The mayor is black.
The people behind the rampant crime are only a small portion of that percent.

To prevent flaming, posts regarding Politics, Nationality, Religion and Sexual Orientation have to be kept to a minimum. However, any post deemed disrespectful towards people of a different ethnic background, gender, or lifestyle will not be tolerated!

This thread has potential to break all sorts of rules, though it probably has done so already.
I want a serious dicussion to exist here for once, but I won't hesitate to lock this thread if it continues to lack intelligent discussion.

Who else is gonna commit the crimes if the population is 70% black? Of course the media is gonna show footage of looting by people (of all races) but since the black group is much larger, there will be more naturally.

It's only common sense.

I realize that, but here's the thing that irks me.
Hurricane Hugo in the eastern States? Hurricane Hazel in Ontario?

You didn't hear a lot of "White people are looting".
Even though they obviously would've been the majority, being the largest percent of the population in those areas.

You heard "People are looting". Without the racial generalization.

True, the ever infamour "dramatic and glamourizing" media outputs want people to think a certain way.

We all got our opinions, hell, I know I do, but in a time of crisis, focus on HELPING the people regardless of race or culture or anything!

To quote the movie "John Q"

John: If people are sick, or they need help, they should get it! Sick! Help! It works both ways!

I think it's funny how the media portrays blacks as 'looting' stores and the whites 'finding' food and then say something like "Oh! We're not racist!" Screw the media, they're the ones at fault.

I'd also have to blame the government for not providing the support they could've very easily sent out to save people's lives. Our military has more than enough helicopters, boats, tents, G.I. packs and MRE's to help people survive. Why can't they just dole out the same military technology we have in places like Iraq or Afghanistan to citizens in Louisiana? It's simple: because it's not socially or economically profitable. They don't help out unless there's something in it for them. Since that's not the case, tough luck on the victims...
