There were old games that first hit the arcades appearing on different consoles in the 90s. Such of my favourites included:
Dragon's Lair (a game designed like an animated adventure) Golden Axe Streets of Rage Sonic the Hedgehog Street Fighter 2 Mortal Kombat
It's a shame these 2D arcade titles no longer roam the arcade. I remember being on holiday and saw arcade titles like Robocop, Shadow Warriors and Golden Axe.

PS - They had an arcade version of Sonic the Hedgehog? Yes they did, a couple of em'. Strange for Sonic Team, yet very cool. SegaSonic The Hedgehog- coin op Sonic Championship- (fighter) coin op Sonic & Tails Spinner- coin op Check out Sonic Central for everything Sonic, http://www.sega.com/sonic/content.phpJun Senoue also does the soundtracks for the Sonic games nowadays. He's a fellow shredder, check out his stuff of the Sonic Heros soundtrack.

Let's face it...most arcades are all but dead nowadays (at least in America)... -_-

One great Arcade game:
Galaga.
If the arcade only had Galaga, I would play it for hours and hours.

Street Fighter II Street Fighter II - Championship Edition Centipede Ms. Pac-Man Galaga After Burner II Samurai Showdown (wish the Neo-Geo machine had four games instead of one ) Silkworm and a few others which i can't remember at the moment.

Yeah, gotta love all that insane violence and in the later games like Samurai Showdown 4(my favorite) you could do no contest finishers which were AWESOME!

My first favourite arcade machine was probably the rare Super Mario Bros. upright arcade cabinate (can't spell today). Fav arcade games of the 80's: Black Tiger by Capcom Disks of Tron by Midway (the one on one with cpu disk hurling one, not the 4 type game version) The 90's: Samurai Showdown 1 (never got to play the others ) Soul Blade (or Edge, forget which one the arcade version was) enjoyed quite a few NEO-GEO games. Probably a few more but can't think of at the moment.

You lucky...! Maaaan... I wish I could play those old Sonic arcade games again... I also wanna play the arcade version of Um Jammer Lammy. I guess I'll just have to settle for DDR. [Best to avoid using swear words altogether. - MM] Sonic Gems has those on it I think.
