What did everyone think of this episode? It was a lot less comical than the SPC version, and a lot of things actually made sense where they didn't in SPC. (Polly's bad breath Grin). Overall, I thought it was pretty good, and I'll be sure to download the next episode when it comes out.

KNT and SPC are actually fairly different, but they are both good in their own ways.

KNT does make more sense, because that's the story the animation was actually made for.  The Japanese crew put a lot of work into making these.  For example, the background music was made especially for the show, while SPC's is mostly just generic.

SPC is funnier that it's Japanese counterpart.  And unlike many dubs, the American/Canadian crew were allowed to have some fun and be creative.  I really love them both, but for different reasons.

SPC became its own unique show that was funnier than if I'd seen this subbed ep back then. I like both for different things as well.

Agreed. Also, I find that I watched this ep more to compare it, and to see if SPC was an improvement upon it. Maybe the next one I'll be able to truly watch it without comparison, as I'd like to do.

You all know me and my writing style as being "darker" and more "serious" than your average everyday SPC fanfiction writer. That's why I appreciate KNT much more now, as I can actually understand what the hell is going on!

If all of KNT were translated eventually.. It would be better than SPC.

I've only seen a few minutes of it so far, and from what I've seen, it's hella awesome! Grin

True, it does seem less funny than SPC, but it's great to finally find out what they really said in the original scripts and it's kinda comforting to know that it's better suited to the animation.

I'm gonna send this ep to all my friends. Thanks a lot Tigriss and Puutaro-Kun! Can't wait to see more! Wink

its very cool, i like it. but i find that Sukashi is a little more stuckup and a show off  than his SPC counter part, but thats what his name basically means so it works out.

also having a subed KNT ep will help me with my japanese language studies so thats also good >:3

now, i feel like i'm getting to know what KNT is truly like, by the characters' real personalities (like Sukashii, who calls himself a "handsome" guy). you guys have put as much hard work into translating and subbing, as the animators and producers did into creating KNT. yoku dekimashita!   Speedy Wink

I definitely enjoyed watching this episode. As pointed out, the two versions are very different, but I am curious to see what the original version is like for all of the episodes. I liked the little bits of information they gave for Pururun, as well as "Teyandee is Yattaro's favorite phrase!" That amused me.

I am totally loving Koon~no~Kami's voice. XD

SPC does have some great dialogue, but I gotta say KNT is generally a whole lot better. There's just so much great stuff that Saban left out.

As for this episode... Basically it's just ANOTHER introductory episode with lots of explanations and little plot. But hey, we get to see Sukashii being turned into sushi, so it's not like anyone's complaining.  Guido Smirk

<Mechamecha Ninpo Hidencho mode> "Hey, hey, hey, everyone. How was Puutaro-kun's first subbing job? Awful unreadable fonts? Out-of-sync subs? Colors that made your eyes bleed? We sure hope so..."
Heheh, but seriously, if you find anything about the subs that could be improved don't hesitate to tell me.  Speedy Wink

Yeah the first few eps introduce the characters at the end of each show, those are great. Foundations are being laid.

As you might have seen with the translated Manga, I think episode 2 was actually #1 in manga form, so it still introducing the characters and plot at that point.

Puutaro-kun, your subbing looked fine to me (except the bit tht was missed on the preview version Tig sent me to check, but that's fixed.)

Ya, the first chapter of the manga had stuff that they used for both episode 1 & 2 of the anime (mostly for #2). But the manga was very different and very cool!  Polly Love

In the 1st episode they gave the information about Yattarou, and in the 3rd episode you can see about Sukashii. In another episodes you can find useful information about Karamaru, Gennarisai, Shitappa Karasu Ninja, Otasuke membaa, Omitsu, Wankoo-no-kami and other characters of the KNT.

Supersonic already knows I don't have much to say about this other than:
Okay, I get it Yattaro. Teyandee is serious business.

Yeah...

i'm still undecided with KNT.

The script which was used was the closest i've seen an attempt on so excellent work there guys. Ep 02 in my opinion wasn't the best ep for KNT or SPC, even though both shows have their own strong points.

KNT is a lot more darker i admit, but then i think saban when they were given the show to utilise were told to lighten it up for the western world. hell just look at what they did to sailor moon.

SPC is more light hearted, but one major thing is lost. The plot. KNT has a concurrent plotline where every ep has multiple meanings, SPC doesn't have that in my opinion anyway lol. seeing an spc ep about 20 times in a day sort of get to you over time

but i'll sit on the fence in this one, i like this ep, but i'm torn as to which i liked the most, the spc version, or KNT.

Ko'on no Kami was (sorry to mega Big Cheese fans) a lot better than his American counterpart. Oh that laugh! In fact, every character was a lot deeper and more entertaining. I can't wait for more.  Speedy Wink

I loved it. It's good to finally know what they were actually saying in those episodes. Now I can fully understand that whole concept. I hope to see more. Sorry I didn't post this here sooner. I really think it's pretty good. You guys did a fantastic job on it. I hope to see more.

BTW, where's Tigriss? I haven't heard from her in while now.
