Being a fan of Guido Anchovy really drew me to this episode (as well as reading the plot Grin).
This is the one where we see a more realistic side to him and something many of us share, the anxiety of feeling left out of the good stuff.
The highlights in this one are of mammoth proportions, relating to the Guido storyline andand few other surprises.
In the Guido part of the story, Guido suffers from a case of the blues so much that he deliberately ignored his duty as a samurai. Everyone from Speedy to Polly to Lucille didn't realise his depression, but Francine did.
A couple of shared scenes between the two are, in my opinion very, very thought- provoking and cute, especially when Guido snaps out of his depression. I love this pair.
However, it end there. Guido's moment to shine came when he single-handedly took down ninja crows and the latest robot. His finisher could a match for Speedy's as it slices clean and demolishes the robot. Very cool looking finisher as well.

Other highlights almost seemed to be out of fans's dreams such as:
Polly in a sexy, hot woolly suit for her Pointless Sisters comeback.
The Rude Noise doing their occupation as rockers.
Rude Noise vs Rescue Team in a battle royale.

This is Guido's best outing among all, but I still don't get how saving the day makes you destined for the music business.

Then there was the part where Big Cheese was singing (in heels as well, yes).  And he was shattering glass and destroying buildings in the process.

A great episode, and about “I still don't get how saving the day makes you destined for the music business.” Is about fame, nothing else.

Ah, my favorite episode. Just when Guido had found himself underappreciated by those around him, he managed to make himself famous in the end. Gotta love fame.

Wish the same could happen to me one day... No wonder I love this episode so much...

Poor ol' Guido! It seems that the writers just tend to overlook him or push him into the sidelines a bit. Fortunately this episode makes up for that in a big way! It is Francine however, who take the prize for the episode's best line. When Polly shows off her new costume, Francine's reply is priceless:

Polly Esther Polly: I'm off! Doesn't this costume make me look hot?
Francine Francine: It's super sexy alright ....Tramp!

And the Big Cheese's rock 'n' roll robot looks like Engelbert Humperdinck???!!? I guess if they put a cheesy 70's mustache on the robot, then maybe... (lol)

"It's not the real Humperdink. It's not even a phony Humperdink."

Yeah, the series was pretty starved for Guido episodes. It's too bad too, he had a lot of potential.

That's what makes this episode 'classic' SPC in my mind.  It has all the usual things one would expect in any random episode, but having Guido as the 'major' character for once was a much-needed break from the norm.

I believe it's one of the few (if not only) times we see him perform his finishing move as well on that 'phoney Huperdink'.

There's some classic quotes off this episode as well....I used to know them, but they've escaped my mind.

If only I wasn't on a limited-bandwith ISP (satellite), It would be the first ep on my list in the queue.  At least I still got it on tape, so's not all lost.

Yep, that's a classic!  Such a shame you couldn't get away with a line like that now.  Oh well.  Anyway, it's well cool to see my favourite Pizza Cat getting his time in the sun.  He does seem to have been "the forgotten one", which is a real pity.

Funny, as my own favorite line was what was shared between Guido and Narrator.

Guido: "...what have they got that I haven't got..."
Narrator: "Talent?"
*Anime fall*

That was priceless to me! Great episode for Guido and Francine, this series really knew how to swing for the fences.

A great episode for all those who  Polly Love Guido. It was nice to see the vulnerable side of his character behind the usually more confident, boastful veneer. Guido's certainly more introverted then the others on the team. And yay, he got to finish the robot! Nothing beats depression like destroying a giant robot with your flaming blue sword Guido Smirk

While I don't agree on the "introverted" part, he has been getting less attention in the series. He's still a nice and friendly character and can be even more considerate than Speedy sometimes. He's also the least temperamental of the 3, like when he tried to get the team to stop fighting in "Singing Samurai Sensation". Personally, I think Guido should have been the mascot for Pizza Cats. But that's just me.

I don't knovv about that. I can name a lot of examples vvhere he HASN'T been all that nice and has started a fevv fights himself (" Polly's Magical Flute", "Stop Dragon My Cat Around", "Big Cheese Shovvs His Filmy Substance'. )

True but he usually keeps his cool compared to the other cats and Speedy has started fights with him, too; "The Nuclear Potato", "The Pizza Cats Are Only Human", "Close Encounters of the Pig Kind".

No Guido's certainly not 'overly' introverted, just compared to Speedy and Polly he's the most quiet/serious. But not excessively so ...

And Pollygirl in the words of Chris Crocker: "leave Guido ALONE!"  Guido Smirk

Hey, I'm being truthful! Did Guido really have to pull the stool out from under Speedy in 'Polly's Magical Flute'? Or make fun of his height in 'Big Cheese Shovvs His Filmy Substance', knovving he's sensative about it?

Actually, Polly is the most serious one.

Speedy is the sarcastic wise-guy leader. Speedy Wink
Guido is the cool dude and "so-called" wild romantic rover. Guido Smirk
Polly is the fiesty but independent one. Polly Wink

Yes, yes he did, to all those accounts.

Because that's what makes the series so fun. The two main protagonists are tryin' to be top spot, but since everyone knows Speedy is the head cat, Guido just wants his mini-revenge anyway he can; whether it's pranks, fighting or bickering.

As for the stool and making fun of Speedy's height.. I'd have done the same thing until he was in tears. Grin

Well.. At least the enemies are trying to DESTORY the city and KILL the SPC whenever they have the chance.

I don't think you can compare pranks and such with that level, Guido is just who is he is. Just like I am.  Cool

And it's about time someone recommended I be put up for being canonized... AT BEING BADASS.
