I was invited to a meeting to provide feedback for some new Pepsi product called "Pepsi Natural". Me and two other guys had to basically write down what we thought about when hearing buzzwords like "Natural" and "sugar alternative", look at some fake ads, mark what we thought sounded good, bad or confusing on said ads, drink a couple of samples and then write down if what we drank matched up with what the ads mentioned.

The ads seemed a little too misleading personally. I mean, judging by the lighter color and the dew-dripping leaves on the 8-pack box, I would've thought they were talking about an iced tea beverage if the labels didn't have the name "Pepsi" on them.

Also, some of the phrases they used were way too touchy-feely saying things like "made from cascades of fresh spring water" and "straight from the earth as nature intended" or something along those lines. I was also confused when they mentioned being made with kola nuts, vanilla bean and even citrus. I thought most cola drinks were just carbonated water with sugar and caramel color.

As for the drink samples, they tasted more like diet soda...and I hate diet soda. If anything it tasted more artificial rather than natural. If that's how natural is supposed to taste like, then no thank you, I'll stick to soda the way most people already like it.

Natural doesn't necessarily mean it's good for you. Pennyroyal oil is natural too but one teaspoon of it will kill you. If people wanna go with "natural" I guess we can go back to using banana leaves as toilet paper and astragalus roots as tampons.

Whatever. For the first time I got paid money to speak my mind. I win.

This reminds me of when Coca-Cola went to New Coke... We all know how that worked out...  Roll Eyes Also, congrats on being able to speak your mind about something and actually getting paid for your thoughts. That would probably never happen to me.

For a second I thought some spam-bot had taken over Methid's account.

I stopped reading after "Pepsi".  Embarrassed

That's not what I meant. What I meant was, the post reminded me of the New Coke situation, rather than the actual physical changes and events. I've read about, and heard stories of New Coke's infamy, ergo it's possible to remind me of said situations and stories of New Coke.
