Alright, who saw the premiere for this spiffy show on Saturday night?

This is the best anime I've ever seen thus far. (Don't worry, SPC is still way up there )

I've seen it in Japanese.  It is the strangest show.  The hero fights evil with his nose hairs...

Nose hair, armpit hair, you name it.  This show is hilarious, despite it not making much sense.  Here's the rundown of the basic plot without spoilers.

An evil empire rules the world with an iron, hairless fist.  They have since decreed that everyone be bald and hairless like them, male, female, animal, etc...  Well, that's where the hero comes in.  BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo, or BoBoBo for short basically fights these crazed bald men with his body hair.  He's accompanied by a kid, a talking pickle, and a flame-looking thingie as he fights an evil emperor who controls the world from his mother's basement.  Did I mention BoBoBo has little people living in his nose, and squirrels in his 'fro'?

From what I've seen, it looks like the translation wasn't too bad either.  They changed a few lines, but it didn't cause a big problem.

I got a fan sub from a friend months ago. All I can say is... WHAT ON EARTH?!!!! The man's hair is speaking!

i haven't seen it yet, though i did see a commercial for it, as well as a couple of ads on a BoBoBo RPG for GBA.

all else i know is that BoBoBo was originally voiced by Takehito Koyasu, the same man known for Il Pallazzo of Excel Saga, not to mention Nekkii, one of the "Otasuke Members".

Whoa, that guy? If it's who I think you're talking about, he sure is an awesome VA... The english voice is cool too, but he could've sounded a little more black. Oh well, he still sounds close enough to a black guy so I'm happy enough.

BTW, it was a nice feeling seeing how they kept ALL the kanji in the show completely uncovered each time they introduced someone (even the nose people). It would've been nice if they had been translated, but they weren't that important to translate anyway.

I still can't believe this show got licensed in the first place. XD But it deserved it, because it's so insane that it's awesome.

First time I heard about Bobobo was in a Shonen Jump manga article. After reading it I realized that it was a crazy concept but I had no idea that it would be crazy altogether.

I actually pondered then if a manga like that would even be featured as a manga preview at all in Shonen Jump. I thought to myself "Yeah, as if something like that would ever have a chance..." I never would've thought that it would land in both Shonen Jump and Cartoon Network.

Oh well. There's always the manga. Luckily, it's published by Shonen Jump--something more reliable than Cartoon Network.
