At least I managed to get a deal on the Pururun (Japanese Polly) Mega Nyanki model kit from Japan. I just need to put it together and paint it. Help!

i'm actually amazed how much this is going for.
I picked my SPC figures up from Kuwait (same packaging as the auction) and got the complete collection for under £100. At least i know if i ever need the money i can sell my figures. but that's likely to never happen.
I wonder if the big models, (some of the robots, the catatonic) would be worth a lot too?

Well we thought there was no Euro Catatonic. If there really is an English language packaged Nyago, it'd be worth a ton.
Also there are action figures of the enemy robots? Interesting. Did the action figure series go beyond #8? Or are they model kits? I know whatever it is, if it's new Vi will want to catalog it and get pictures.

No offense, but that just screams bootleg to me. I mean, the items coming from Kuwait. Maybe it's just me being a cynic because I live in Mexico and there's so much bootleg stuff around that I see piracy everywhere. |

Bootlegs or not, I'm very interested in seeing what these models that you've never seen anywhere else are.  (As for the Polly auction, I can't say I'm shocked. NOTHING surprises me anymore when it comes to eBay) |

I can't judge the quality of the toy only looking the photo, but it seems to be well made. I don't know about 15 years ago when SPC were aired, but nowadays I find many bootleg toys with fair quality in Brazil (after all, bootleg or not, almost all toys come from China). I have bought many cheap Power Ranger's action figures to my son. as far as i'm aware they don't look bootleg, and came from a supermarket, not a market stall.
i've seen a few of my other fan friends with the exact same toys which they bought in england in 1994.
but you've made me really sceptical and wanting to check their authenticity now lol

I know there are bootleg NES games, but I really doubt anyone would make bootleg toys (at least not in 1994, maybe after seeing what this Polly figure sells for...). You'd have to make molds for each part, cast them, assemble them, make packaging. In the end, it wouldn't be worth the price you'd get. Besides, there are still used and some new unopened toys still turning up in anime shops in Japan and online. I'm sure Tsuneko's toys are legitimate, but I would like to see photos for my SPC Toys page, since I don't have some of these. I know they intended to release the Catatonic and Pizza Shop in Europe, but I've never actually seen them in that packaging.
