Well, since I feel guilty now I downloded the trial and tested the game, it's nice and I just have 2 big complains... The sprites are too small and I get kinda tired of my eyes but that's because my eyes aren't healthy anyway...

Another thing is the music loop evrtthing is looking very well...

Can you change action1, 2 and 3 for shuriken, attack and jump in the control configuration screen? I'd like it more in this way

1- Yeah, sprites are small 'cause they're the "original" ones from the Nes game... 32x32. In the final version they will probably be something about 128x128. It's just a temporary thing.

2-Music isn't looping? Or the problem IS the loop?

3-Yeah, I could change this. Maybe not to "shuriken", 'cause I will probably do different things for Guido and Speedy. "Long range attack" maybe?

Aaaaaanyway, any issues about the speed of the game?

It's about the way music starts over, it totally stops and then starts again; would be better to have a tune that start again without a pause having the feeling of having just one very long tune...

I thought you would use the star-shaped shuriken for Speedy and the kunai shuriken for Guido; anyway, long range attack sounds good; the idea is knowing what's the specific function for each button when you are customing the button mapping...

Got it. Not hard to modify. Music is ok now.

Btw, maybe I CAN do this other shurikens. I don't know right now.

Also, I will try to find someone who can do hand-drawn sprites for me, OR I, myself, will try to do them. I'm not a good artist, but I can learn. I think.

My notebook is broken. Not all of it, but it wont run my game anymore, so programming becomes harder cause I simply can't test it in real time. I'll try working on other things until I fix it.

I've ran the game on my better laptop & it was actually playable.
The unit has...

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz
RAM : 8 Gig

So far the game is alright for a tech demo, however the wall-jumping mechanic is awkward.
Perhaps a less-lethal demo area could be implemented to give the player a chance to get used to the mechanic?

From a laptop (Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4Ghz, 6GB Ram, Radeon HD6490):
Running left and right on High/all sounds is fine, but jumping up/running into spikes slows things down.
Knocking back the video to Medium/Low and everything is much smother, both with and without sounds.
All very fun! The wall jumping does take a bit of getting right, but nothing that can't be fixed.
Hope your notebook gets better...

Thank you all for testing the demo and for all the feedback. I Really appreciate it.

About my notebook... well, I think the graphics card is a goner.

Anyway, I'm planning to buy a new PC. Intel Core i7-2600M 3.4Ghz , Radeon HD 6970 (or 7970), 8GB Ram.

So, I'm in "vacation" from this project for a while. Hope you all understand.  Speedy Wink

Sounds like a nice new rig. Smiley
A little vacation from code never hurts. Gives a coder the chance to come back & re-think things with a fresh perspective.

5.3.2 is up. Still, it's only a small update. I won't post it here. I will let y'all download the next version when it is ready. ATM working in new graphics configurations (1024x768, 1280x768, I don't know) and in speedy/guido.

So, yeah, I was just talking with some friends and I've decided to let this project die.

Why? Well, delphi is, obviously, the wrong language for games.

Instead, I will use the logic and all that I've learned so far to start a project in C++. I will start from zero, but It will run far better and have much less issues and bugs and everything. I'll post updates in the forum when I do something that is good enough to be shown.

Thank you for the work you've done so far. ^_^
The game was coming along nicely with the basic mechanics you had worked out.

It'll be interesting to see the game's performance in C++ vs Delphi once you become versed in the language.

Hmmm... That's bad to hear; anyway, I hope you enjoyed doing the game since that's the real important thing... We'll be looking forward for your future progress; I personally thank you so much for doing all this...

I reallly appreciate your words guys. I'm happy that you've liked the game so far.

Delphi was a frustrating language to develop anything that involves moving images. It's a language usually used to develop programs for comerce, where only numbers and words change constantly.

I think C++ will be way better, and way faster too, to develop my game. Already downloaded CodeBlocks as my IDE. Just need some time to get my real "work" from job and university done and I'll start learning.

As I've said before: I really appreciate the words. Thanks.
