I heard from TVTropes that there was a spin-off which was police themed. I think I saw a picture of the proposed spin-off on this forum, but I forgot where it was. Does anybody have any more info on the spin-off and how it fits into the KNT/SPC universe? I feel this would be appropriate to create fellow officers to accompany Capt. Julie Mizuno (Freida's sister from Guido's "New Adventures"/"New Millenium") as part of the Little Tokyo PD.

There isn't a whole lot of info available, in fact I don't think it was publicly acknowledged until the Japanese DVD release in 2012. But it was proposed not long after KNT finished, and was going to be called "Kyattou Keisatsu Beranmee" (Cat Police Beranmee). Like "Teyandee", "Beranmee" is a on old Edo-period interjection that means something along the lines of "you bloody fool!" The premise was going to be okappiki (Edo-period secret police/detectives) cats VS. cop dogs. There's a page of concept sketches in the recent KNT fan book, but said page notes that unfortunately the story treatment was lost so we don't know much about the setting or how it would tie into KNT. At any rate, it never made it past the very early concept phase, and Tatsunoko went on to make Tekkaman Blade instead.

Sad to see it go without a chance. But does anybody have a screenshot or two from the proposal? I think I saw one in this forum, but can't remember where I saw it from.

Here it is, it was posted by usbcheater in this thread. You can see that many of the original cast have direct equivalents here. There are clearly stand-ins for Speedy, Guido, Polly, and Francine, and a tiger who would be filling Big Al's role.

Sorry for the delay, but thanks for the help!

Those sketches look really good. Too bad nothing became of it.
