Looks more like they're trying to give Bomberman a more Metroid feel to it.

"Dark" and "Explosion"

They killed Bomberman...  the Bomberman I used to be able to draw is no more. It would been FINE with another name but noooo, they had to "upgrade" him to this monstrocity. There is no fun in videogames anymore, its all about the new graphics now...32bit pwns todays junk |

Appearently, this game is supposed to be closer to the game makers' original dark sci-fi vision of Bomberman: http://www.insertcredit.com/archives/000981.htmlKinda cool. "Bakufuu Sentai Bombermen" for PSP looks kinda stupid though... |

Well, I feel for you Bomberman fans. Seems like a constant trend in the entertainment industry is to give anything a huge an "edge."
The art style has "Metroid" or something else rip-off written all over it.
The game appears to be the same as Classic Bomberman, just... made to look like something the creator of Tron left under the fridge.
