As we all know, The Samurai Pizza Cats as well as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are both Haim Saban reproductions of Original Japanese Footage Westernized for Younger Kids. Here is a Samurai Pizza Cats Sighting on the Pilote Episode for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

I don't think anyone cares about this yeah-so-what trivia, but here it is. SPC on MMPR.

I heard about this way back, about '97 or '98.  But I was never into the Power Rangers, so I've never seen it myself until now.  I think there was some other show that was another Saban live action wanna-be-Power-Rangers type show, and a dog was watching SPC on a TV.  Yeah, a dog.  Talking dog.  It was a stupid show, so I never watched it myself to try and confirm this.  Too bad Saban put all his interest into promoting those shows and not as much into promoting SPC.  I think SPC would have done much better than it did if Saban's commercials for it didn't make it look stupid.  A lot of people who would have probably liked it didn't even give it a chance.  I myself only discovered SPC was on American TV by flipping channels and happening across the middle of an episode.  But I'm getting off topic here...

I think that was from VR Troopers. Or something like that. I remember seeing that show for a couple episodes. It was good, but I really thought it was stupid.

Masked Rider!  That was the first show to use footage from SPC.  VR Troopers used it a bit later.  Right after Saban acquired the rights to the show, its japanese footage (minus the vioces) was the 'cartoon' that used to be a running gag on both shows.  Like when one of the people thought they had footage of who one of the heroes was, it'd end up being SPC footage.  That's why in Power Rangers Dino Thunder, alot of us were expecting the 'reporter' girl from their class to whip out footage from the show when she thought she had footage showing the White Ranger transforming.

Boy, this brings back memories...

Huh. Wish I could've seen that episode. It would've made my day.

i remember seeing that myself. the talking dog, Jeb, was watching TV at the VR Trooper's HQ. i saw clips of SPC, and i was thinking, Weird. I don't remember ever hearing of that show before. this indirect question of mine would remain unanswered for another two or so years.

I have to agreee. I too remember VR Troopers & Masked Rider amd I definitely remember SPC footage on a episode of Masked Rider. It was in a heatwave episode where the hero's alien friend, Ferbus had just recovered from the unnatural heat and was watching tv. Apparantly, he was watching the SPC intro. That was back in the days where both shows share the same channel when Fox Kids first premiered on Cable where I come from (years before Digital TV). It's a shame that they have not been on the air ever since.

I believe VR Troopers is also another one of Toei's Sentai series
on which Toei's sentai craze stared with Battle Fever J (originally to be named "Captain Japan")

I don't suppose we can use this thread for general references to the Pizza Cats, as well as sightings?

You see I was watching a bit of Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger (Adapted for American audiences as Power Rangers Ninja Storm) and notised the gold bits on the hurricanger helmets.

Notise the leader has a circle  Speedy Wink The girl has a triangle  Polly Love  and the other guy has a diamond shape  Guido Confused This reminded me of the Pizza Cats helmet crystals.

Well spotted, mate!!
