If this was a holiday special, it would be a Valentine's special, judging from the many love referances featured.
If not, it makes a great Bad Bird episode, as his past comes back to him in the form of childhood sweetheart, Carla, who coincidentlly was a clown in the same circus Bad Bird was hounding Princess Vi.
Not getting too much into this pair, as another topic deals with couples, but it is highly interesting to know the other side of the coin, that is Bad Bird, so to speak.
A very dramatic ending, yet also sad. It is good to know that they see each other in later episode

Other notes:
I'm surprised that they not take the scene in which a love-struck Big Al began licking Seymour like a normal dog, very disturbing.
The Cupid Robot is no marksman. It always hits the wrong people. And its demise was being trampled by a stampede of crazed Speedy lovers, thanks to the robot's poor aiming.
The Pizza Cats personally would like to put their serious security assignment aside when at the party. While they were willing to go under Al's nose, they really ain't fooling anyone.

Overall, a nice background story starring Bad Bird at his most sentimental and most vulnerable. Like I said, a ending minced with drama and angst, but in the end of the series, those two lovebirds do have a happy ending.

This episode reminded me that Bad Bird is the only character who we actually get any backstory on. Not to mention we get Bad Birds full name- Birdy Badbird.

I guess the series restrained itself from doing a "pizza cats as kids" episode. I was surprised in the time travel ep we didn't meet their past selves.

My favorite funny moment of this episode is when the Cupid robot hits Mama Mutt with a love arrow while trying to aim for the princess.  This episode also has some great Bad Bird moments.  I think this is where people started to get the hint that Bad Bird would later turn good.  Either that, or they may have thought that the writers would try to carry out a tragic love story, but I doubt it considering the lighthearted nature of the show.

If they really wanted to portray the Big Cheese as the mortal enemy of the Pizza Cats, why isn't he a dog?

I saw an uploaded version of this episode on Youtube. Just as Speedy was gonna strike the robot with the Magical Ginzu Sword, it gets cut off, with the SPC Fan Club Oath, and it's almost as bad as getting RickRoll'd by the Big Cheese dressed up as Rick Astley!
