Kyatto Ninden Teyandee's Episode 01 has now been released as part of the ongoing Project Dream.
A big thanks goes out to the main subbing and translation team, which consists of Tigriss Tsimsiean, Matsumoto Sensei, and Puutaro, as well as all others who helped in making Project Dream a reality.

Get the episode at Nyanki-Fanatics.com or the links Vi posted below.

Some people have reported trouble downloading from Nyanki Fanatics.  This is probably because of the newsletter just being sent out with the link, plus all the people who read about it here.

You can try later if you have trouble, or go to
http://ftp://fmatsumo.quimica.ufpr.br/knt/KNT01_NyankiShutsudou_subbed.zip
Where Daisensei has uploaded a mirror copy.

And at Supersonic's FTP

Well, I finally got a chance to watch it(Doing math in the summer is perverted Annoyed) and I almost enjoyed it as much as the dubbed one. Almost. I really liked Bad Bird's beginning lines, as well as the dialogue between Yattarou, Sukashii and Omitsu. Overall, I found this episode better than 'The Town is Full of Sushi! Panic!'  Smiley

Perhaps KNT 02 is less enjoyable for western audience due to sushi related jokes. Although sushi is known outside Japan, I think most of people can't understand this subject enough to enjoy some puns and jokes related to it.

Anyway KNT 01 is really a good episode, introducing the features of the most importants chacteres of the series. I enjoyed specially the double nature of Speedy Cerviche and Guido Anchovy relationship: at the beginning they were acting like rivals disputing Omitsu's heart, but soon they  turn to work in close partnership to defeat the Macha-dragon. Also Bad Bird, Seymour Cheese, Jerry AttrickBig Al Dente and Polly Esther was introduced properly, but  Lucille and Princess Violet have been developed more in late episodes (in my opinion Lucille has somewhat complex nature... well, perhaps this could be discussed in a new topic).

Including works in progress, I transcribed the KNT 01 to 04, and in my opinion the KNT 03 ("Hore hore ana hore, motto hore") is the best one among them. But I also consider KNT 01 as the second in the ranking.

Indeed, I give it points for making a good deal more sense than SPC, and I still get some of the cultural humor. (although... the reaction of Big Al Dente to Princess Violet 's wishing of luck... I know I'm missing something there... anyone wanna explain?) Got a good smirk at "So the dogs of the government finally show themselves!" "Actually, we're cats." So I hope once things start to pick up it'll be more on par with SPC.

Interesting, but still... I dunno, lacking something.  Look forward to seeing the differences and similarities in plot as it moves along though.

That and the pun in Japan is... a fair bit more involved than an English pun, or most other languages'.  Therefore, they're annoying to translate, and likely lost on a foreign audience that doesn't know that those two words are similar in the original language.  (Plus, they're really not that funny...)

It was the "un-princess-like" behaviour.  This could be expected later in the series when you get to know Usa Hime better, but since this was the first show, and she had been sitting there acting all formal, this catches people off guard.  She addresses him at first in a formal and commanding voice, worthy of a Hime:
"Wanko no Kami"
Wanko answers, bowing low very fromally:
"Usa Hime-sama, nani ka?"
Then Usa Hime drops all the formallity and reverts to a schoolgirl like:
"Ganbatte ne!"

In Japan, where you grow up speaking with different levels of formallity to different classes of people, and years of watching samurai movies with very formal princesses, this is funny.  To get some idea what it's like, imagine instead of the Shogun's court; an English King's court, with his Knights and Barons.

Princess: "Sir Alfred of Dente"
Al: "Princess Violet, how may I serve you, my lady?" *deep bow*
Princess: "Go get 'em, big guy!"

It was a decent first episode, but just too Japanese for my taste, I like the SPC counter part a bit more. KNT makes me think Yattaro is a Pocket monster because he keeps repeating the same word over and over^_-.

On the good side I like that things in KNT are explained a bit more and that Koon no Kami calling you know who "homo".

PS: I wonder if I should update my site with some KNT info...nah, maybe later...

Eheh, honestly I really enjoyed this first episode! ^_^
We meet all the major characters, and I had fun looking Sukashii and Yattarou fighting for Omitsu.
Sukashii makes me laugh referring at himself as "Sukashii-SAMA"! And, oh well, I also have fun hearing Ko'on-chan asking Wanko-no-Kami "Are you a homo"?
Eheh, I thought "Well, we'll see a lot of funny gags in this anime".  Grin Grin Grin  Polly Wink

But there's a thing I don't understand... When Ko'on-no-Kami explodes... Gennarisai, at the beginning, always says "Tohoho... Gennari".
I think I'm missing the joke... I know that "Tohoho" is using when somebody's depressed... but what does "Gennari" means?
Maybe, does it mean something like "I am tired"?
I mean, Gennari means "wearily" or "dejectedly", isn't it?

It's basically "I'm getting tired of this/sick of this/fed up with this." ("This" being the whole routine that happens every episode, with the failed plans and the exploding and everything). It's one of those little puns that's kind of hard to translate.

Oh, I see! Even if Gennarisai says that sort of catch phrase only in some episodes, I'm glad to have the confirm about my doubts!
I really enjoyed this first episode!

Oh, I forgot! In this episode we see for the first time the "Karakara Clan/Family", but I prefer to use the original name, so I translated it as "Karakara Ichizoku".
I imagine that Karakara is because of crow's call.
