"Ying Yang Yo" is great, but D-Mac told me it didn't worked out well in English speaking countries. The Spanish version is great at least...

Is it just me, or is All Dogs Go to Heaven the only animated movie that has ever had a decent sequel?

there have been many disney movies that got stupid sequels, Cinderella got 2 sequels, lion king had a prequel to the sequel, jungle book got a very useless sequel, lady and the tramp got the same, peter pan got a sequel, even the 1942 classic Bambi got a sequel, there are more useless disney sequels, if only walt was here

In Bambi's case, it was a 'mid-quel', sort of filling in the gap between when Bambi's mother was killed to when Bambi became a man full-grown deer. 'The Lion King 3' was a mix of a prequel and a parody of the first film (which really killed the emotion of the original, in my honest opinion).

Speaking of old cartoons, anyone remember Dexter's Laboratory (WTF, I spelt it right, this time!)? That was my life when I was a kid!

I try and like all cartoons, such as this one which also has a cat and a crow in it:

I must admit that Pink Panther and Sons passed me by, as did:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-ivsOE45j4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-ivsOE45j4</a>

Which raises a point, why were there so many "and Sons" spin off's? You either get the main cast as kids (Muppet Babies), young versions of the stars but unrelated (Tiny Toons) or kids billed as the offspring (as above for Messrs Panther and Cat). "Cheep franchise extension" yes, but why bring in the young 'uns? Not to mention messing up the continuity ("Sonic and Sons" anyone?).

So what happened to the cartoons? They are still made, but with every year it's getting harder to point to one and say it's as good as the the earlier stuff. Getting more pessimistic, you could say the whole idea of television episodes, schedules and series will slowly disappear.

Meh. I'm off now to try and find a cartoon spin-off from a cartoon that was as good as or better than the original. And while I do that, try and imagine Samurai Pizza Kids (or Kitts, if you prefer).

Goodnight.

Most of the "new" stuff I liked got canceled, like Swat kats, "Hyperforce", Teen Titans (At least it lasted more than 50 episodes, if you count the movie), Get Ed, DragonBooster and the one I mist the most, Megas XLR!.

PS: So how many of you made up their own cartoons show idea when they where kids?

well, scrappy doo was fine, but didn't really do anything until the 80s, where he got rid of velma and fred  Yikes! , and violet said that, "if it aint broke, don't fix it"

yea, there were many old cartoons that got children versions in the 80s, flinstones, tom & jerry, scooby, they were kinda nice to my opinoin  Speedy Wink

Thanks for making this topic very very very hot, just because of that, i will put this in other forums, such as this one http://www.thesmartass.info/forums/index.php (it might be somwhere in the everthing and anything section), don't worry about the profanity of the forum's name, it's an ok forum. on that forum, im MitchZer0™℗

what was i thinking, putting the topic somwhere you can say #%$@ and everything, with a user named Werewolf, who is a cartoon and spc hater (i found that out when he nearly killed me for posting spc vids on the chat box and using the jon tailbain sprite on the chat box he would mostly use).
