"Nyankii is forever!" - Script for cutscenes

Hello again...
So, I was thinking about some plot for my game, and I came up with this first part and wanted to show you. English isn't my first language so there's probably a lot of errors that I would really like if you could point.
That's the first Scene of the game, immediately after that starts the first tutorial, where you use Speedy to go through.
Nyankii is forever!
Chapter 0 - The adventure begins / Tutorial
After a few months of the final struggle between Big Cheese and our feline heroes, Francine and Polly are tediously cleaning the tables. Its winter, the day is gray and cold and there is no one in the restaurant. The phone ring and Francine take it up.
-Pizza Cat, our delivery guy is as fast as a blur and we promisse not to drop any fur. In your pizza, I mean.
Polly giggles.
What kind of catch phrase is that anyway?
She continues her work.
-Ok, we will delivery it as soon as we take it out of the oven. G'bye. - Says Francine, putting the phone down.
-Finally some work. Looks like almost no one wants pizza nowadays.
-Well, someone want. And It's house is almost out of the city. Where are Speedy and Guido?
As if by magic, Guido walks in, scratching his back and yawning.
-Man, I'm bored. I never though I'd say that but I miss the old times, even with all the dangers and ninja crows bothering us and stuff like that.
-So gear up. You have a express delivery to do. - Says Francine, giving him a note with the adress.
-Oh no... no, you mean... You can't possibly mean...
-Oh, cut it out, I won't miss this time. And the good old cannon is becoming all rusty. Now shoo, begone you two. You have work to do. - She says, looking irritated.
As Polly and Guido walk into the kitchen, the phone rings again.
-Pizza Cats, we do our best to deliver they fast. (...) Yes, of course. (...) Understood. We'll be sending it shortly. Bye.
-Another one? - Says Guido, putting his head through service window.
-Yup. But It's on the other side of the town. Where's Speedy?
-No Idea. Haven't seen him for a while now.
-Geez... Now what do we do? You can't possibly deliver both pizzas in time...
-I could do that - Says Polly. -There is no other costumer today, and we need to keep our good name.
-Well, that's... Unusual... But desperate times need desperate actions. Ok Polly, here is the adress and the order. Finish the pizzas and Gear up you two. You launch in 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, Speedy is sleeping inside the pantry. Altough the day is freezing and he's lying over only some bags of flour, he's sweating and moving his arms around like fighting something. He hits some bags with punches and kicks some others; mumble something about Bad Bird, Ice and Polly, then Suddenly wakes up, yelling.
His eyes open wide, he search blindly for the light switch, breathing deeply as he notices that all was just a dream.
-Oh boy, I'll never sleep again. That damn nightmare is breaking my nerves.
He lie down again and looks to the ceiling, daydreaming about what his life was and what it has became. After some time, he hears a loud noise, and jumps almost 25 feet away from where he was.
-FRANCINE, ARGH. YOU SCARE SIX OF MY LIFES OUT OF ME.
-Good to know you still have one left. That way I can KILL YOU FOR BEIGN SLEEPING DURING WORK.
-Meh, I was... Meditating... About a new pizza flavour... whatever, what's up?
-It's been almost 2 hours since I sent Guido and Polly in a delivery, and they're not back yet. If it was only Guido I'd say he went for Lucille... But Polly?
-I... I see.. What do you think happend?
-I don't know... but that doesn't smell good.
-I'll check it out, don't worry. I guess is probably nothing... I hope.
Speedy goes to the ovens, preparing for the launch. He trully loves Polly, but his comedian nature never let him trully express his feelings without making a joke or a funny remark about her "strong temper", so they never engage in any kind of relashionship.
With that bothering his mind more than ever, Speedy is launched away, straight to the adress Polly went.

Not bad but it feels more like fanfiction than a game script; i mean, usually the games have simpler and faster dialogues; anyway, this is just my opinion and I can be wrong...
Another thing, this is the scene previous to the tutorial stage so I suppose we will learn to use Speedy's fighting actions; but in the scene Speedy (I guess) is wearing his normal outfit... You must give a better reason for Speedy changing into battle armor (Like a sudden robot attack or something) than just investigating a pizza delivering...

Yup, It's true. In the middle of the work I though "Meh... That's a boring thing to read. Maybe I can write it like a story, just for fun?" That's the result. It's a little less formal and straightforward than a script, but I still can use it as one.

Don't take me wrong, I never said boring, have in mind that you need to keep the dialogue simple for making easier to make it fit in the cutscenes (Unless you are making a RPG game)...

Hah, Yeah, I got it. I'll keep the dialogues short. I just though that telling you guys the story in the old "*does that* *goes there* *says that*" mode would be boring.
I'm not making any Metal-Gear-Solid-long cutscenes here

Personally, I like that there's continuity from the last episode of KNT/SPC--the last official episode as I don't count the clip shows as a legit episode. Anyway, I do like that we see our heroes in the aftermath of what happened; feels like you're playing season 2, I guess, of the show.

Sorry to ask this, my knowledge is not that good, what clip are you refering to?
Getting back to the topic yes I agree it feel like a continuation, guess that for a game it usually is shorter cutscene but there are games with longer ones even 2D games geature that like Another World or Flashback, so it could be a good thing to have a game showing longer scenes. Also consider using 3D for faster accomplishing, I mean just for the cutscenes it would be the fastest way to do them and you can portray in cel-shaded style. Great work making the script in any case =).

Well, in terms of Samurai Pizza Cats, the episode I'm talking about is The Big Comet Caper parts 1 and 2--it just felt like the grand finale, and the episode that followed was just a clip show, so to me, the finale is the two parter.

Ah yes I understand, thanks for clarifying =). The fact is English is not my first language but unfortunately they never managed to get all the episodes in Spanish and the spanish speaking mates I used to meet on that forum corner are not coming here that often so sometimes I missmatch episodes because of those that I have never seen dubbed, I still hope they manage to make a comeback and finally make the 52 episodes availables for the world or elese these would be lost for present and future generations (sadly)

You're welcome.
Honestly, even though English isn't your first language, you still do a good job.
I hope that they can finish that run as I believe that this show was, and still is, good, and I hope that more people can get complete runs in other languages such as Spanish.

That sounds like there's still hope for the run to be completed then.
Yeah, I think this show is really entertaining, but it also had some good character development. I also enjoyed The Big Comet Caper part 1 and 2.

Yes you are right, there is hope just its a matter of these mates to come back around here, and see if they managed that achievment or are on their way =).
And regarding the show, yes you are right, its entertaining and fun but its more than some gags, as you said it develops characters and story quite fine becoming quite engaging for people of different ages, and the episodes you mentioned are really good too.

Yeah, that's one thing I loved about the show, especially the two parter that I mentioned--it was entertaining, yes, but it also had good character development for Bad Bird.

Thanks for your support =).
Well I agree in that, characters are not entirely flat and the plots arent repetitive, so I think something like that could be included in the game, giving it the feeling of being a sequel or a continuation, I havent played the translated famicon game, I played it in japanese but I cant read japanese, so I mostly got the overal idea of it, I think it was good because (as far as I understand) it follows the line we see in SPC along a longer adventure, that should be the spirit for this game I think, this way not only fans will love it but also people who never watched the SPC will get attracted to here

Yeah, I like both of those aspects. If the characters are flat, I'll find myself not caring after a while, but that's not the case with this show as there's a lot of character development. The plots, like you said, aren't repetitive, which is good because I'll get tired of that. Not only are the plots not repetitive, but most of the stories in the episodes are solved with one episode, there are only like, what, 3 two-parter episodes throughout?
I think there are some episodes you can watch out of order, like The Case of the Bogus Billionaire, and I think that can make things interesting.
I played the original Japanese version that was posted on here, and it was a lot of fun. There are a few videos that have the translated version (into English), and I think that's very useful for people like me that grew up with the English SPC version.

You are right, all these make the show interesting and never boring or tiring, I have watched other anime series and to be honest mostly in present times anime they are a lot like repeating themselves and showing flat characters just trying to represent the same type of stories over and over.
I hadnt thought about that, you are right, we can watch some episodes out of order, but these are never like filling episodes, I mean in those animes that have like +300 episodes they incorporate a lot of episodes with empty plot, but in SPC its always fun and entertaining even if we watch out of order.
About the original videogame I think I will try to get some time to play it in English, as you said it was really fun but understanding the plot it will be a lot better =). By the way if I remember correctly the game had some cutscenes based on some still graphics with little movement and little text, right? maybe this type of cutscene will be right for Matt's game, dont you think?

Honestly, I haven't seen a new anime in at least six years, so I couldn't add much to what you're saying.
I actually think that part of the fun lies in watching it out of order and seeing if you missed anything. Like I actually had my first episode being The Case of the Bogus Billionare, and I think it was a good introduction episode as it showed the wackiness that the show was about, and it was also an entertaining episode. When I was watching the show during the Summer of 1997, most of the episodes were shown at random order--I remember seeing The Big Comet Caper (part 1) on Thursday and part 2 on Friday while Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday had episode 17, 18, and 19.
I do think it's important to understand the plot of the game and it does make it a lot better. As for the cutscenes, it's a picture of the character with text and their mouth is moving. It's a simple style, but I think it works very well.
I also think that, like you said, it could work for Matt's game.

Well if you havent watched anime from the recent times then trust me you havent missed much, if you ever decide to watch any new series its better to pick any from previous years.
Here I watched the episodes out of order too, mostly my trouble because I couldnt be at home every day at that time (damn school schedule!) but it was fun anyway, and as you said sometimes I guessed like... ah yes that episode must go before that other or so, at that time there was not much information available in internet or other places (well there was not much access to internet either lol), but was equally fun even not having the right order or guide to know what episode number was watching =).
Yes, understanding the game plot is very important, even if its 8bit game which use to feature small plot its still important to get the overal circunstances and all thats going on.
Now that you mention the cutscenes with text and mouths moving I remember, yes that style is simple but effective enough, cutscenes can communicate enough and are not super hard to make, in terms that characters designs can be re-used with only some background works and the needed text, so yeah my vote would be for that type in Matt's game =).
