You already gave them ticket money though.

Thing is... There isn't a reason for a Super Mario Galaxy movie to exist, and if you think about it, the only reason they did one, is because that's the one beloved Mario game people of the Z generation remember. The Super Mario Bros. 3 of this generation you could say, so of course, it's about calling your attention with that name you know, but then the movie it-self, can't replicate what made the GAME beloved, and what it stands for the franchise. It's a movie that released. And will practically just be shrugged off after they already got the money they needed. These aren't movies that need effort to be honest, they just know people will buy these, over and over again. And that's why I said I won't be watching any more of these video game movies.
There was something to be said about the 2021 Sonic movie, it had nothing to really go off of, it had to genuinely try to come up with its solutions. People expected it to be crap, but they were shocked that "it wasn't terrible". It may not have been great, but it had to try something. But starting with Sonic movie 2, they stabilished this formula that, all they need is some story beats of a certain game, maximum fan-service, and there you go! Make a sequel bait in the post-credits scene, people will buy it again. And again. And again. And again.
But all of these video game movies are basically just doing Sonic movie 2 again. They don't have to try, they found the perfect formula.
What do you even expect to watch the movies, and why do you watch them? Why not just play the games they're based on, that, made you truly love what these things are, these are things that movies can't capture. Super Mario Galaxy exists because of new ideas they had to come up with to refresh things. But the movie never had to try anything. It's not what Super Mario Galaxy is all about.

The previous movie had people going to see it more than once, I don't think that's going to happen as much with the Bowser Galaxy Movie.  Speedy Wink

So they made a sequel of a movie that mostly made money by people seeing it twice or more that you you have zero motivation to rewatch?

So I'm a bit ashamed to admit, but I never really got into any Indie animated show, even though those are big now, and I feel like I should, I know that Digital circus finale is doing good in theaters but honestly the fanbase for that (and most other animations in general really) turned me off of it. I know I should ignore weirdos on the internet (hehe, I'm a weirdo on the internet), but it's getting harder now when the internet is everywhere and not relegated to the computer room.

Also Shrek 5 trailer is out, and from what I hear, it's not looking good... haven't exactly followed Shrek past the second one though...

The new Gatto film that Pixar's releasing next march looks cute, it has cats and Italy.

And Toy Story 5, I'm kinda dreading more and more...

My thoughts on Shrek 5 is more-so fundamental. Shrek didn't need any more sequels after Shrek Forever, or any more story to tell. And I know that Shrek 5 is going to be a Legacy Sequel, it's going to be an old Shrek that is angry about his kids growing old, but then appreciates and accepts it, and they move on with their life. Which, while a bit different, is redundant to what Shrek Forever's story themes.

I'm the kind of person who also thinks the Five Nights at Freddy's movies are fundamentally bad, and so is the Minecraft movie. It's not about what they turned out to be, but, also how they are screwed from inception. It's a problem a lot of video game movies face, that, honestly, these are things that have been good because of how they approached the video game medium, and did their things with it, of which, you can't capture what made those things great with another medium, such as movies.

Toy Story 5... I personally think that the problem more-so comes from the fact it's a sequel to Toy Story 4. I'm actually of the belief that you could make sequels after Toy Story 3, it's still open for more things, like, how the generation experiences things differently from the last, but the problem is that what sequeled it was Toy Story 4. Toy Story 4 is a terrible movie. And worse is how it ultimately decides to get Woody off of the cast, and has this sense of finality. Even though now, Woody is back to being a main character in Toy Story 5 like he has always been, making it ultimately meaningless and redundant everything that happened in 4. If Toy Story 5 had been the sequel to 3, I actually think it could be fine. I mean, yeah, I think it's a natural direction to head into, that, the kids are addicted to phones and tablets and stuff.
Honestly, the more I think about it, Toy Story 4 is the "Shrek the Third" of Toy Story. And Shrek 5... I might as well call it Shrek the Fifth.

Well Digital Circus you can watch for free online, the final episodes will be eventually uploaded to YouTube.

I think it is a good show but depends on your tastes.

Yeah, was thinking of watching the full series once the finale is on youtube eventually.

I would have probably preferred that Toy Story ends up being occasional followup shorts on ABC or something, but I guess Disney can't not milk it. There was about the same gap of years between 3 and 4 as there was with 2 and 3 though, I guess it just seems shorter because no one was really asking for a 4th Toy Story compared to a lot of people wanting a 3rd.
