The goal of the entire project is that others who don't understand Japanse can read and understand the manga. It's not my goal to convert it from a manga to a comic.

@Hayama: Maybe it's too early to ask you but I'm constantly hoping that somebody picks up the Samuari Pizza Cats version of this (I'm doing the KNT-version of it). Maybe, I'm allowed to be so bold, this is a task that you're perfect for? You have already proven your more than capable (proberly better than I). Besides you have one advantage: the names are shorter in english! Believe me those long names are hell!

@Daisensei: Since your the project-leader (at least in my opinion) of this, what do you think of my above request? I think a lot of SPC-fans (including me) are willing to help him.

I agree, it would be perfect if it was possible to make a job as good as done with the TV show KNT to SPC convertion.

Oh, but I am not a native English speaker too. I confess that am not sure if the better translation of okama is queer or gay. In the portuguese version I chose one of the least offensive word for male homosexual.

@Hayama: You're in (if you want to, otherwise I will have to force you o_0 ). If you want I can give you al translated psd (photoshop files) though I have lost the first 12 in a crash. Anyway just tell us how you would like to work and we will try to help out.
Just to be clear: I do the KNT-version and you do the SPC-version (otherwise there are two people doing the same kind, a bit over the top right?)

The original scans cane be downloaded from Supersonic's FTP server. In the /misc category, look for "KNT_Manga_Scans_[MethidMan].zip"

ElonNarai, the "To Usa-hime" on the box could be flipped, to account for Karamaru being upside down.

That is unless it was put upside down to be funny.  In that case, you may want to angle it clockwise to line it up with the sides of the note.

Well, I was lazy and this fits, that's the true reason, but I have looked at the picture again and have thought a bit about it.

In the original file it was a 90 degrees turned and also the box is 90 degrees turned. I could also turn it 90 degrees (left side of the box becomes top of text) but even now I wouldn't do it.
My goal is not to create an exact translation, but one that is readable and understandable. If I would turn it than I would have to do strange things to text and I as reader wouldn't like it.
I want to keep the same text-size as much as possible without stretching it or having a lot of dashes (U(dash newline)S(dash newline)a(dash newline)....)
Why? Because it's more easier to read. This means I have to ignore facing sometimes and it also means I can't fill the entire textcloud. This annoyed me at the beginning but now 21 pages I see that this is a better result.

I will outline my goals in a clear summary

The goals:
- easy to read
- understandable english

Easy to read
Using to same font everywhere
Don't change the size of the fonts too often (I start at 8 pt and unless there is a special reason I stick with it)
Use western style writing (left to right, top to bottom)
Translate Sound effects instead replacing him (still have to find that poll)

Understandable english
No perfect translation since current translator (Daisensei) and editor (ElonNarai) doen't speak/write native english
Those who are in the thread are allowed to help getting correct translation. ElonNarai keeps notes of all remarks (I have an entire document of it ~_~).
Corrections will be done at a future data (still to be decided)
Japanese meaning can get lost during translation, this can't be prevented but is minimized as much as possible
We will use Japanese names

Since the popular post (datatransfer) I often worry about the fact that other peole want to translate as well. This can be done on their own or with another team, but this isn't that worries me. What worries me is the fact that if more than one team translate we are actually competing. I don't like to compete since I'm doing it for fun, nor see I the advantage of it.
So what I want to say is that everyone who feels like translating, editing or wants to do anything related to the manga please tell so. My goal is to get this manga translated in such a way that I can be proud on it.

So if you want to help or you can think a better job, let me know. I rather work together than to compete against oneanother. Even if you have no skill and you want to help just say so. I had no skill at the beginning but I'm working on it and seeying the praise I assume I do a reasonable job.
So if you would like to help you can contact me by mail, MSN, forum message or just replying in the thread. I will first discuss anything with Daisensei, but he has more concerns than only the KNT-translation and I only have the KNT-translation as my concern.
